They need to put a fence and signs around the whole damn State.  It's full of dangerous animals and crazy people.

Oh god remember that man who ate someone's face and wouldn't die when the police were shooting him!?

It's best to stay out of Florida if you want to live.  It has too many dangerous animals and crazy people.

The entire indent was sad, but it was the parents fault. What kind of parent let's their child whom is that young even near the water? I'd take a guess that they were trying to get a great picture of the child. Umm, let's see here "Hey honey, it be a great photo op if we pose our two year old near the train tracks." "That be a great picture for the family album."

You make a great point losty, but in the process of accepting what happened, blame will be sought. What do you do when have no one else but yourself to blame for the lost of a child? Blame the park? The media will have a field day on attacking the park and trying to get interviews with the parents.

I hope to never find myself in such a situation. What I won't do here is bash these parents for making a stupid mistake. All parents make stupid mistakes.

Actually, by installing more signs and fences I think Disney is admitting that their precautions were inadequate.

I'm sure the lawyers will settle.  No way you let this one go to a jury.

The question is can you ever make anything 100% safe?

Just to play lawyer for a moment the facts of the case are that they operated in the same place since 1970 or so and never had a gator attack until these two came along and went wading in the alligator pond.  All you need is one person on the jury to buy that argument.

Instead we have a rich corporation doing the right thing.  I'm not going to shit on them too hard for that.  It is so out of character!

If they are intentionally not going to put up warning signs or a fence just because they're scared to get sued...that's not doing the right thing.

I'd like to live in a world where the parents and the park could admit they are both responsible. The parents don't get the other kid killed, the park puts up a fence, and everyone gets some grief therapy.

I know it won't happen but it would be the right thing IMO.
