I had a bible basher answer this one for me, apparently the romans deliberately wiped all knowledge of him from the history books.
How convenient.
And his evidence to back up this statement was.....?
Yeah, didn't think he offered any.

That's what I figured. It's amazing how these people can just make crap up and run with it like it's a confirmed fact.

Well I have a book that tells me we were all created by the Keebler elves who sprinkle magical powder on people shaped cookies, causing them to come to life! So, obviously your book is wrong!

This is why this Tennessee shit where they misquoted Einstein pissed me off so much - do they really think the rest of us are so stupid that we'll just buy whatever they fucking say? That doesn't work so much in the internet age.
If nothing else, the internet ought to kill religion eventually.

They were all real, Luv. As opposed to the god boy.
Another myth to dispose of is the notion that scribbling monks kept "knowledge alive" in the Dark Ages. They copied and recopied tedious xtian drivel. It wasn't until the Crusades that Western Europe reacquired some idea of what had been lost through contact with the Arabs.
The church only gave a shit about documents which supported their silly superstitions which is why the interpolated Josephus survived while the history of Justus of Tiberius was allowed to rot away.
Quote:I've heard that some historians think there was a real "King Arthur" in history.
But there was an Artorius Castus...

Cahill has that wonderfully flowery book called "How the Irish Saved Civilization" on just that vein.
