But no, that battle on Namek between what we're lead to believe are the two most powerful fighters in the universe, where lead characters die and the two of them fight for like 20 episodes and blow up the entire fucking planet? Turns out they were total pussies. And with each new season they become even bigger pussies by comparison to whichever 'most powerful asshole in the universe' they're fighting that week.

"Oh, Goku turned Super Saiyan? Big fucking deal, we got like two six-year-olds here who can do the same thing."

I watched Sword Art Online with some interest, up until all the fairies showed up.

Yeah, it got really bad with the Buu Saga. In fact, as bad as it is, it could've been a little better had Toriyama just stuck to his original plan and have Gohan be the one beating Buu rather than listening to the fans and having Goku beat him instead.

This is what happens when an anime gets past it's prime, most anime's I've watched only go a season or two. Once you get over three seasons it rarely goes well, then you get those strange story arcs and then the fillers start to come into play.

I do hope that the practice of turning anime's into live actions films does come to a stop, it's just a terrible idea.

Nah, not at all. You watch what you damn well please.

Thanks, I've always what people thought of straight guys who watches the romance anime's. Was he just me or did any of you have trouble logging in? Ah, I found another anime I'd advice Kimi ni Todoke.

I think that's great, actually. I'll sit down and watch silly action shows like Dragon Ball with the guys sometimes, but it's hard to find a guy who wants to watch something like Nana with me. Good for you Clap
I don't believe you. Get over it.

Thanks Jesster, I don't have one to watch anime with, and I'll probably never will, but thanks for the praise.

I think it sounds like a lot of fine. How do I join, and how would it work?

I've been watching the first 100 Naruto episodes with my daughter. . . many tissue-box moments for sure.

What's important is the quality of the media you consume, not the genre. I'm a guy and I've been watching romance shows since high school. Some of them are really good, I don't care if they're "girly" or whatever. I'd rather watch a Fruits Basket or a Toradora over the umpteenth shonen action series to come out in a given season.

Endride fucking sucks. Ouran High will always be good. I don't have to be a girl to appreciate that.

On that note, Sweetness and Lighting! It's uncomplicated and cute, and a really good way to relax if you happen to be anxiety prone like I am. It also has the Shark Song, which is a net positive for the entire world. Tongue

There is no official member ship for club, we just talk about anime, Japanese culture, and other things. I just a have few simple rules that apply to the club and it's members.

  • Be respectful to one-another
  • If you post links make sure you say if it's in dub or sub
  • If it's a Hentia, (shōnen-ai)=Yaoi, or (shōjo-ai)=Yuri
These links can only be sent through PM'S
Now, this next rule may make some people cringe, but it's needs to be said. My honest feelings for Lolicon, Shotacon, I really don't have anything against them. There is elements of these in most every anime and generally can not be avoided. But, links that are purely Shotacon or Lolicon based are not be traded or posted in the club. What you do outside of the club with other members is your business. I don't want any of us to be in trouble for sharing materiel that can land us in prison or that can lead us to be labeled as sex-offenders.
  • Other then that, enjoy the club.

Why do you care what others think?

Why do you care what others think?

I don't really care what others think, it's a question I've often wondered about. I do take great pride in separating myself from the average anime fan and try to understand all the references being portrayed in anime. I know since I was raised in a western culture, I'll never be able to fully compered, but I can damn well try!

The other day a older lady accused me being a millennial, that really bothered me since that age group has a lot of negative baggage. I'm almost thirty and have no children and have never been married, nor do I watch nor condone reality T.V shows or those stupid national talent contest shows. It's a part of the American culture shame theory that other countries have with us. I aspire to be more understanding and gain knowledge, and being associated with modern stereotypes with American culture and assumed gender specifics.

For example, every time around the time of a Superbowl customers always try to ask me about the teams and who I think will win. I don't like sports at all, I've never even watched a Superbowl before and I don't plan to either. All because I'm an American male, people assume that I would take an interest in the sport. If they just stopped and asked the question "Do you like sports, if you do , do you like football?" before assuming that I watch it by default, that be a more logical approach to it. A simple question can clear up a lot of misunderstandings. This is why I prefer socializing on the internet over a face to face interaction.
