Well done, Australia!

Why are you assuming I am giving Israel a pass? I have a huge problem with their watered down theocracy as much as I do when Christians say "Christian Nation" about America too.

Humans in general have very short term memories. Jews in America are mostly liberal and do not always agree with the politics of Israel especially younger people. I do think Israel as a nation has lost sight in large part of the suffering of the Jews who were victims of Hitler and don't see their own transgressions in responding to their Islamic neighbors. There is plenty of blame for all sides is what I am saying.

RELIGION, is the root cause of the divisions between the big three monotheistic religions. It took the west a long time to drag itself out of that kind of tribalism and I don't think it helps one bit to use fear or sell fear of your fellow human to combat anything rightful and I apply that all religions and even atheists as well. The world is far too small now, and the age of conquests has to give way to an age of cooperation especially when it comes to global resources and climate change.

It is certainly ok and justified to want to protect oneself violence and the desire to want to be free from it. It is not ok in that process to be so paralyzed by fear that you lose sight of the fact that all 7 billion of us are still the same species.

I do not like the way Israel treats Palestine but that does not excuse whom backs them up which are right wing Islam. They don't accept refugees for the same stupid reason humans have used in all conflicts globally in our species history.  Evolutionary grouping creates rival groups, but the excuses humans hide behind while producing safety in numbers comes at the cost at reducing the outsider to being less than or "other".

It isn't your natural human desire to want to be free from harm I object to, but blanket solutions of "all or nothing" and all out bans are inhuman and what theocracies and dictatorships like North Korea advocate.

So much this.

Australia have obviously made their decision.

Have you also read the the majority of refugees in this wild camp were already accepted as actually being refugees? By the proper channels.

It's rather that they only focus on that. Abused by the current Israeli administration actually. To denounce everyone being against their current policy as being antisemite.

So no, they haven't forgotten. They use it as a tool. Or rather the powers that are do.

Anti-Islamic-Jewish-Semite-Christian is what all three hide behind to excuse their own tribalism. The secular west would do far better with their leash on religion by not allowing the right wing nuts in any to scare social liberals into allowing them to hide behind labels to excuse transgressions against their fellow humans. I apply that in all directions. It is the simple concept of seeing the human individual first and not using the default position of assuming guilt and fear.

Ann Frank would NOT in my estimation, value the likes of NuttyYahoo. To me Bibi is simply a Jewish Dick Cheney. That still does not excuse any Islamic or Christian nuttiness. Fuck religious tribalism, it is simply no different than a street gang simply with more political power and bigger weapons on a geopolitical scale.

Sure, but they are already in France yet many of them insist on getting to Britain when they don't have any links to Britain. Doesn't the whole refugee law say that refugees should seek asylum in the first safe country they get to? France is quite safe and rich enough. We've promised to take in 20,000 and have done our part.

Japan has the right stance on "refugees", which basically amounts to "our people come first".

They are quite right.

That would be because he's just as much American as he is Israeli. He was brought up in the States and only went to Israel later.

If I were chasing you with a stick, would you hide in the first house you came to, or wait til you found one with which you had a 'link'?

Bullshit..... I get to speak on this because my x-wife is Japanese. Fear of outsiders is wrong no matter who is doing it. Hyper nationalism and paranoia was what caused Japan to shack up with the likes of Hitler, and her grandfather fought against us, that was a person she loved dearly and rightfully so. But at the same time her parents are still old enough to feel guilty about what Japan did. The same hyper nationalism Trump is peddling.

Recently there have been protests in Japan against our American military because of problems when individual military there have raped women, is it right any man to rape a women? Women also get raped in America too. In a comment I saw by Japanese bar owner about anti American Military protests he said "Our prisons have rapists too". Now, when it comes to humans our labels do not automatically make us good or bad. Our species behaviors are in our evolution, and our species will always produce good behaviors and bad behaviors no matter how boarders change in the future.

Our species didn't become diverse by sticking to it's own. Our entire species started out of Africa and because of migration and mixing we have all these different looks on the planet. Every nation has hospitals and prisons both friend and foe alike. What is more important to me are your actions in valuing empathy and non violence as a means to problem solving. Again, our current boarders as a species does not change that our entire species is still stuck on the same rock.

It is the same evolutionary fear regardless of label. Humans are social evolutionary wise, that leads us to form groups for survival, the problem is for most humans is that logic is flawed based on artificial constructs we call race, religion and politics and economics. Those are the excuses humans make to group to compete for resources. None of that changes in the end that ultimately that is what life is. Unfortunately that leads most humans to a very narrow view of the world to the point we think locally and end up defending what our parents pass down to us.

No, sorry, shutting your fellow human out based on fear is not acceptable period. If you want to live in paranoid societies try Iran or North Korea.
