How bad do you hate the Donald?

My most fervent hope is that he actually listens to his advisors (provided he picks something besides yes-men, yeah right) and doesn't do anything truly stupid vis-à-vis world peace or the effort towards it.

That may sound odd, but - provided he sticks with the ones he selected so far - I hope he doesn't listen to them. They actually seem worse than himself.

One thing I think that ANYONE can agree on if you're left wing or right wing or if you like or dislike Donald Trump is that the mainstream media does not like Donald Trump.

I'm from the UK and seriously up until him being elected I was still edging towards the opinion that this man just doesn't stand a chance.

The reason for that I put down to my interactions and information I get with Americans are purely from either the people on this forum or from mainstream celebrities and mainstream media.

So all I know about this guy comes from everyone on this forum saying he's racist but that means nothing to me since I've been called racist.  

People like George Clooney laughed and said there will never be a president Trump.  

But it turns out most Americans do like him.  

So the point I'm getting to is that you basically have a country whose entertainment and news media represents pretty much the opposite of what the actual people within the country are thinking.

And another point is I don't know what to think about Donald Trump.  I don't think he's racist or that a lot of the other claims made against him are true.  I've seen quite a lot of support for Trump by a few black celebrities and youtubers out there, and Donald Trumps ethnic minority employees.

But I don't really know him, don't hate him or have much to say about him really except for it does make me laugh how much the media and celebrities have always hated him and now he's president after they laughed at him for so long.

But you just have to wait and see what happens next really.

I like Trump and I think he's going to make a terrific president. The best president.

I don't hate him.  I think he's childish.  But I also don't think things are going to be that bad.  I really don't.  Call me naïve, but I think the system will still work.

It occurred to me that the system probably survives better with Hillary losing and providing a civil closure for an awful contest than it would have the other way around.  I can picture his followers rioting and him drawing it out and threatening lawsuits.

You may be over optimistic but I choose to hope he will be successful -not in terms of what he ran on- but in ways which does some good for the country and the world as a whole.  I think of Trump as childish, extremely ignorant, a narcissist far beyond my own powers and quite possibly a psychopath.  But I don't think he is stupid, just vile.  Hopefully he rises to the occasion.  Who knows?

I also had no interest in teaching in a private school or charter school.  (I would never have put up with the hardships of teaching just to contribute to the widening of the gap between haves and have-nots).  Why might you lose your position with so many years experience?
