Why do you have him on ignore? He keeps quoting me too. I simply don't look if he quotes me, since I'm sure it doesn't interest me. Do I have to resort to emergency measures when someone farts in my general direction? I don't think so.
I have him on ignore now as well. I don't even want to see a single intolerant nasty thing he writes. It makes threads easier to read and I don't accidently miss other people's posts while scrolling past his. I just did this yesterday, and it's well worth it for me.
Why be hard on Jester for using a perfectly good forum tool as it was intended to be used? This seems like tensions are up and snapping at each other over nothing.
Now hugs and back on topic?

I wasn't hard - until it got personal. Not on my end to be perfectly clear and not in response to me but maelstrom, using me as a tool to take some cheap shot. I hope you also noticed that I didn't reply any longer. I simply see no reason in continuing this any further.

So put me on ignore.
Seriously, until that little exchange I actually had a rather positive opinion of you. Thanks for clarifying.
Dude, Jester is fine. Just understandably upset and scared. Have you ever Overreacted? Give them a break. Today, or this whole fucking week for that matter, is not a good time to go making snap judgements about people.
I've always enjoyed your posts. Clearly this election reminds you a bit too much of some very real tragedy closer to home, don't take it out on people on your side.

Deep breath everyone. What I read was a simple misunderstanding and a few heated words from some people I like, and I see both your points of view, but this isn't worth it.
Anyway, not my fight, just trying to keep things calm. I see enough ugliness outside today.

There's two things to be said on the protests. Either they come as too little too late or they come too early with too few people participating. I'm also not impressed by the numbers participating. What's your overall population now? Give or take 350 millions, isn't it?
Back in the day we had a protest of 250.000 against some piece of rightwing legislation. In a country of give or take 8 millions and a city of under 2 Millions.
That's not to discourage you. Take part in any grassroot movement you feel worthy of your support. I will too, once this shitwave reaches us. Which can be the case in about 4 weeks.

The Other 98% on FB just posted that Trump wasn't going to touch Obamacare. Some other account said that he'd keep certain parts of it. And conventional wisdom has said he'd do away with it.
I didn't want trump, but I want to give him 100 days just to see how things go. He's just one cog in the wheel of government, hard as it is to remember.
ETA: so to keep this post on topic, I respect most of the protesters, but it's not my cuppa.

In that case, I am super mature.

Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Frankly I still don't see the point of these protests.
"We don't like Trump, we're letting him and the world know!"
Great, I'm sure he'll cry in his new chair in the Oval Office and the world will think you're stellar folks who aren't reacting like a bunch of "Everyone gets a trophy" generation crybabies.

This is likely exactly how the protests are impacting things: not at all. I definitely see this as their right in every sense; it's just a wasted effort. There are better ways to change things if you care that much.

Like voting in the first place. Since many of them didn't.
