Treckies are playing a game, the rules are layed down by Gene Roddenberry, thasers are usually on stun.
Believers are following the word of god as heard by some guy thousands of years ago (maybe) and it seems to justify all manner of brutal shit.

Maybe Treckies are in the running for silly, at least they aren't scary.

I love george carlin. Too bad he died? He was actually one of the only comedians I've ever seen to get people thinking during his shows. Also funny as hell.
