No doubt? Depends on who's starting it and why. I would remind you that not even in the case of Iraq the whole west backed the US. Because it was considered an unjustified war of agression by most of the larger western powers. Only the UK and Spain remained, apart from the usual suspects in Eastern Europe. And Micronesia, of course.

No, comparing something small to something on an unimaginable large scale. You really think if the Orange idiot was to let lose on a whim that everyone would follow him with flying colors? Ever looked at a map, ever looked at the overall population numbers? Ever looked at how "successful" the Japanese were in conquering China? In 4 years before they dragged America into the war, they only were able to conquer the coastal regions and some outlying provinces along the major railroads. And that against an extremely weak China being in a bloody civil war at the same time.
I find this Ugha Bugha approach hilarious. Waging war against China or Russia isn't a slam dunk for anyone. If for no other reasons than for Geography and climate alone.

Based on the battle experience and history of both countries plus the military spending of America.
Anyone who's done anything competitive ever knows the value of experience, and America has a fuck load of experience of fighting across the world and experience with all kinds of weaponry ranging from nukes to subtle espionage.
It would be interesting to see what alliances would be made. Russia would probably be laughing along with a large majority of the Muslim middle east.
Based on what I remember from my days in the Islamic forums they would pray for horrible things to happen to China nearly as much as America.
Ye've fuck all experience against a well equipped, motivated and modern army. And thearmy's experience against half trained and idiotically lead insurgents doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies that the army's leadership is up to anything much other than feathering their own retirement nests.
As minimalist has said, quite a lot of the spending difference is pork barrel and corporate welfare, another huge chunk goes into the category of "we haven't afucking clue" (which likely means bribery and other corrupt payments). I think ye're overestimating theUS's position quite a bit here.
2 Things. I'm not a pirate and I'm not American so I don't know why you're typing to me in the style of a pirate saying "Ye've got".
The experience is relative. Which country out of China and America has the most nuclear weapons, the widest spread military bases. (Add to the fact the military bases are pretty close to china).
America is very war ready.
I'll gamble with the boxer who's been using the punching bag and going against weaker opponents for years and years vs the steroid guy at the gym.
Not that China is weak, I don't know who would win, I'd put a bet on America.
Also I agree with people who are saying it depends who started it and other circumstances like that.
But I've deceded to not be one of those guys who argues about who will win theoretical wars that no one can realistically predict with people I don't know on the internet.
It's for the sake of my own well being. So this is the last reply I can give.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.

I really can't be bothered getting into this with you of all people. As mentioned by paulpablo, it's impossible to know who would win in a theoretical war and actually pretty pointless debating it however if it were to happen it would be a lot different compared to the Iraq War and I think the majority of the West would side with the US.
But that's just me I have my opinion and you have yours.

This was a few days ago, but I didn't see that anyone had posted it yet.
Quote:President-elect Donald Trump told Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte that he is going about his controversial fight against drugs "the right way," Duterte said.
Duterte says he was greatly pleased with the "rapport" he had with the newly elected U.S. president..
http://www.cnn.com/2016/12/03/politics/t...hone-call/
For those of you that haven't been paying attention, Duterte was elected president of the Philippines back in May basically on an anti-drug campaign. He has since been accused of waging a drug war with human rights violations and thousands of extra-judicial killings for things like minor drug offenses. People that are speaking out against him have had to go into hiding, and it's even alleged that many of the people involved in the drug war are actually involved in the drug trade themselves and are using the war to silence people that could get them in trouble. Not too long ago, two people in custody were shot, and the authorities claimed that they had reached for the guards' guns. An autopsy later showed that they had been beaten so mercilessly that it would have been impossible for them to reach for anything.
So, three cheers for a president-elect that tacitly approves of executing people in the streets without trial and silencing any dissidents! Nothing to fear here...

As minimalist has said, quite a lot of the spending difference is pork barrel and corporate welfare, another huge chunk goes into the category of "we haven't afucking clue" (which likely means bribery and other corrupt payments). I think ye're overestimating theUS's position quite a bit here.
Your insistence on thinking that it would be a land battle is unjustified. That is the only area where China currently has superiority -- manpower. They have small numbers of modern fighters and fighter-bombers, but no equivalents for systems like carrier battle groups, Los Angeles-class attack submarines, or our C³I. This is a nation that is still fielding over 700 MiG-21 copies. They have a grand total of 24 J-16s (roughly the equivalent of our F-15E Strike Eagle, of which we field over 200), about 380 Su-27/J-11 variants (compared to about 2,260 4th/5th generation fighters in Air Force inventory).
I'd suggest you read up on some of this stuff before defending such an uninformed statement. You're not doing yourself any favors.
