He murders a scene.I don't remember a guy being murdered...
I just remember he blows up that space station at the end with the villain still on it. I didn't care for any of the TNG movies, not one matched the show at its best.

(I have the original trilogy in this despecialized version, which I reencoded to take "only" ~2GB per movie... it's only 720p, after all. I may make it available on request )
OMG, I may have to take you up on that! I used to have the unenhanced version, but my first husband took it with him when we divorced (he took all my movies, even my disney stuff, the bastard).
Working on it.
That Disney stuff was a bit heartless.
I have a bunch of disney movies, too... but most have had their soundtracks converted to the Portuguese version... In retrospect, I should have muxed both soundtracks in the file... live and learn!
Nowadays, with the kids a bit grown up, I just add subtitles.

I heard good things. We have CGI Peter Cushing and CGI young Carrie Fisher, and especially Cushing was supposed to be impressive. What'd you think?

I barely noticed either were CGI, i was quite surprised when i saw both of them. You can kinda tell as their motions are a tiny bit more.... non-human? But it's incredibly well done CGI otherwise

I just got back. I was entertained. I cared about the characters even knowing I wouldn't be seeing them (for the most part) again in A New Hope. Well told story integrating lots of details, tucking in any number of loose ends with only a modicum of silly stuff. Even that was mostly light adult humor rather than slap stick. Knowing the arc of the story and where this one is supposed to fit in - you should probably know going in- didn't diminish interest at all. It actually added a tragic touch missing in the trilogy of trilogies movies (and no, I wouldn't count what happens to Anakin in the prequels because those movies just didn't have the gravitas to pull that off).
Have fun and, of course, may the force be with you.

Did Peter Cushing put in a performance of an afterlife time?

Saw it.
No spoilers but I thought it was very well done, and I only caught one continuity problem but I'm not pedantic about that shit so w/e.

I saw it last night as well. The movie kind of felt rushed at some parts, especially the beginning. Also I never even remembered any of the characters' names besides Jyn Urso. Not sure if that's the movie's fault or mine. I thought they did a good job of making the war feel so real., and Vader was bad ass (though James Earl Jones doesn't sound too hot...it sounded like somebody else doing a Vader impression)
Overall I liked it. To compare the newest Star Wars films, TFA is the better film but I give props to Rogue One for originality.

I saw it too, I thought it was far better film than TFA. But overall it was still just so so as a film, unless you are easily overawed by any Star Wars prop.
The Peter Cushing CGI was good statically. But despite motion capture, its movements were not always lifelike, and at times screams "animation". The way the character turn his head lack the life like human way of accelerating and decelerating. I actually think Gollum from TLOR series were better done in this respect. Also, the skin texture is still not quite completely convincing.
