I have alot of words for people who don't "believe what I believe"...racist only applies to a particular subset, lol...and trump supporters..whatever else they may be, regardless of how many other labels might apply to them...were all racists. They might not all be the traditional antipathetics, many are....but the rest fall into the category of simple apathetics...the new gentlemans racism. I'm familiar with both, I give no special passes.
A racist, is a racist, is a racist. Motivations and foundational underpinnings are irrelevant. They can justify their antipathy or apathy to someone else, in the end, it;s racism either way, but some of them belive that they posess the justifed version thereof...and some people are willing to grant them what I like to call "southerly courtesy". Good for them. I'm not one of them, so......
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Totally silly. 8 percent of blacks and 15 percent of Hispanic women voted for Trump. Are they automatically racist? It's a lot of circular reasoning. Supporters of Trump are racist because they voted for a racist. Meanwhile people frequently claim one of the reasons Trump is a racist is because he has the support of racists. Calling someone a racist is a strong claim. Calling millions of people, even stronger. Strong claims needed strong evidence. I'm not convinced.
It doesn't matter to what I'm saying anyway, which is that calling everyone a racist is one of the reasons Hillary lost

Yep, you respond with "blacks and latinos" like there isn't racism in either demographic....? Like the mere mention of them being black and latino somehow argues against the notions I have...that they're racists, for supporting an overtly racist candidate for president, who made racist promises, to people who wanted to hear them.

It wasn't just -trump- that was a racist. Many racists have been presidents, they didn't all run on the racist ticket. It's a fine line, sure, but it can be managed.

A strong claim? Hardly, racism is run of the mill and completely unremarkable in this country......and ofc racists supported trump, he promised them racist shit.....which is why -I- call people who supported him racists.

I doubt that very much.

Indeed and that was a lie. They were just stringing together words that sounded good. Like the democratic republic of congo is an anarchic war zone and the soviet communist party was a fascist dictatorship with as much to do with Karl Marxs view of communism as fish have to do with a small bookshop just off the kent road.
In short people use words to bamboozle and deceive take herr drumf every word out of his mouth only bares the vaguest relationship to reality.

Well, it seems to be continuing. Might as well post the video that's going viral for all the wrong reasons:
If condescending lectures like that are what progressives have to offer "white men," if we're going to talk down to them, treat them like they're already klansmen, can we be surprised they don't want to be progressives themselves? Do MTV News or Huffington Post realize that they're shooting themselves in the foot? I mean, alt-right groups are calling this a 2020 Trump campaign video and they aren't wrong; this is why "white men" voted for Trump: his side wasn't insulting them.
I live on facebook. Come see me there. http://www.facebook.com/tara.rizzatto

If you're going to call me one and treat me like one, I might as well just become one. I got nothing to loose at this point.
Unintended consequence?

While I do see your point, I'm also kind of monumentally fucking frustrated that we're at this point now where if we don't couch the correct position in nice enough terms, this is somehow justification on its own for rejecting it. "Yeah I did the wrong thing! You were so mean in explaining what the right thing was!" These are the people that rail at PC culture and not being able to say disparaging shit about other groups, why exactly do they need this special treatment to be enticed to even considering a different position?
There are big communication problems with the messaging on the left, but I think the landscape that conservative political rhetoric is constructing for its side makes it increasingly difficult to effectively deal with them. Bridging this curiously prevalent double standard- where they reserve the right to start shit with us in the interests of not being politically correct, while expecting a certain degree of obeisance to even come to the table of conversation at all- is problematic for a number of reasons, chief among them being that... well, a lot of the big mouthpieces on that side are already apt to take the mere existence of other positions is an anti-them message. That's exactly why we get the war on christmas crap every year, why atheist billboards get vandalized and liberal positions get spun into conspiracy theories about false flags.
Obviously not everyone on the right is like that, in fact I hope the majority aren't, but in voting for Trump what they've told us is that at the very least that shit is not a dealbreaker to them. It does raise the question of how we should be communicating with whatever groups led to this incoming administration, and how we do it without ceding more ground to them in the process.

If you're in a position where the only things you can think of that are preventing you from becoming one are that you don't want to be called one or treated like one... you probably already were one.
Not you specifically, Brewer, just following the patter. When I ask myself why I don't become a racist, not being called out as a racist doesn't even come up. The fundamental humanity and similarity of people of other races does. What is that saying about this hypothetical person you're talking about, if that doesn't register for them?

Just pointing out a potential reaction to extreme labeling.
