Is religion a crutch?

RE: Is religion a crutch?
not a crutch so much as a sprained ankle . . . .
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

The manner of it's employment.  When it;s used to get you, personally, through some nasty shit..okay..whatever it is, okay.  When it's used to oppress, repress, and suppress...fuck you you're not coping...you're creating the shit that others have to cope -with-. You're no longer dealing with misery....you are misery.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. Yeah but that's unintended by product from their point of view, right?

Nope, it's not unintentional, even if it is a byproduct. I hate squirrels as a byproduct of my loving my garden...but once I support anti-squirrel legislation...my actions can no longer be considered unintentional...if they ever were in the first place......if I was ever an accidental squirrely bigot.

(which I've never been, fuck squirrels, right up their stupid assholes)

Yeah, all the proselytizing and attempts at law making are pretty extracurricular for someone who just wanted to go on in the faith he was born into.  Fair enough.

I see it more like a really big protecting loving security blanket that is never the same once washed in reality.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

See, I know the difference.  Married to a super faithful person.....a person that's never once even remotely tickled my ire at faithfulness-in-practice.  The rest of these asshats have no excuses, because I know that it can be done.

I think it's the opposite of a crutch.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

So a burden.  Seen from our side, no doubt.
