Well, marriage shouldn't have anything to do with government whatsoever, so... yeah. I do consider it ridiculous. As long as it has something to do with bullshit on taxes, then whatever... but since it's wrong for that to be the case anyways: I don't want to see religious matters infringed just because bad laws were on the books in the first place.
If your state wanted to legalize it, that was their right. You have the power to vote within your state, and you have the power to move freely between the 48 contiguous united states (and to get married in a different state, whether or not yours recognizes it). To take it to SCOTUS, and to have them rule on it and create a nationwide precedent was really a gross use of their power.
Sometimes you have to respect the opinions of the people you disagree with. There were many manners of change available, this one is one I don't much respect having been chosen.

They're intense, and I dislike them because of their worst element.
It was fine when the Republicans came up with it... fighting it so hard on our behalf was the only thing that has ever made me rethink using a public bathroom in 6 years (god I'm getting old).
Heh, so you say. We could debate that, but it's happened, it's over, and this is a thread about trannies specifically... long topic, easily go off topic completely.
Yes, I have been to a gay pride parade. My oldest daughter is a lesbian, and so is her wife. (I bet that pisses you off. They also have adopted children, which I'm sure pisses you off more. Maybe you should go and cry about it?)
The fact that you want to deny gay people from getting married makes you seriously fucked up. You're a fucking piece of shit, and the world would be better off without people like you in it. Your mother would have done the world a favor if she had learned to give blowjobs.

It's association with a bad group of people. It's not wrong to have pink hair, but it's definitely frowned upon by those who've interacted with that bad element and now associate fun hair colours with some pretty loud and atrocious individuals.

Is that, in your estimation, a failure of the lumping individual or the individual with pink hair?

Good for her?
Why the hell would I be pissed off that your daughter has found love, and is raising children? Seriously, what is your obsession with my opinion of gay people?

Far from it? I supported gay marriage, but I support things being done the right way more. I had a girlfriend I was living with at the time that gay marriage was suddenly legalized nationwide... but we never proposed, despite three years together. Our lives led us in different directions.
I can't speak for your daughter... but I hope you raised her better than you're speaking to me right now.

Could be. I certainly don't want to be associated with it. Something interesting happened in Portland (Well, vancouver washington) this past year. It's burnt me on the purple hair... and on liberal cities that can't tell a woman when they see it. I'm very deeply offended

People should be able to get married to whoever they want, but people are dicks, so you americans had to push it all the way to your supreme court to get anywhere with it. You're also saying "respect the opinions of people you disagree with", but at the same time, surely they should respect ours too? Cyclical, isn't it?

I've yet to meet a bad person with dyed hair, ironically enough. So basically what you're saying is; You've had bad experiences with people with pink hair, therefore all people with pink hair are bad? Because that's what you appear to be implying

Not your choice, though, is it...when someone else is doing all the associating...and failing the pink hair they will find whatever other convenient rationalization they can grasp for to associate you with the same, regardless.
You seem to think we should respect these peoples "opinions". I'm not crippled by any such delusion, lol.

It sounds to me like you made an assumption about this situation without reading the whole article. The kid was diagnosed by psychiatrists, just like you agreed they should be. Certainly if this was a case of doing it for attention as you claim, a medical professional(s) would have seen it for what it is?
I don't consider medical professionals as well as you seem to... there being multiple involved is the necessary part to combating this very severe distrust of mine. Multiple is necessary. If that was the case: I can only hope that they were right, and that the child is happy. I've already accepted that I may have acted in blind rage towards the wrong I perceived, the last time I'd read articles relating for this were back when the story first broke, and the information I've had rattling around in my brain regarding it has been influenced strongly by a recent interest that an internet community took in it and what entered my mind while lurking there. It took that rage to get me to come back and say anything to begin with (post at all)
My hatred of Money is very very deepseated. The reality of studies of transpeeps is that there is a LOT more work to be done. I'm very critically aware of this, and it's of great concern to me. I'll give Money and the generation that immediately followed him that at least they tried... but I cannot forgive their ignorance for the suffering it has caused. He was instrumental to getting treatment off the ground... but he is absolutely dated, absolutely failed to properly follow up in the Reimer case, and because of his negligence thousands of operations have been wrongly performed on people as a response. I don't know who I hate more in the whole world, actually... however justified that might be.
There is a very real void of good data about transsexuals. It really needs to be remedied, without any political side seeking their views reinforced.

Can't be disrespected for having purple hair if I don't have purple hair, Rhythm. Nobody has to do anything based on what I or anyone else thinks, it's my decision based on what I value in my life... and I think I pass better as a blonde to boot

I can't speak for your daughter... but I hope you raised her better than you're speaking to me right now.
The 'right way' AKA deny people their rights until the majority supports it. Which is fucking bullshit. You probably also had a problem with Loving v. Virginia.
You've attacked this lesbian couple--for absolutely no reason other than your own self hatred. And then attacked their child for--having pink hair. Which I find to be total bullshit. I mean bitch, please. I know young people with all different kinds of hair colors that all turned out fine. Nobody had any problem with them except the bullshit traditionalists like yourself.
If you're offended by how I speak, then too damn bad. Go find yourself a safe space. I'm sick and fucking tired of you traditionalists who call people 'weird' because they're different. Who think that lesbians, gays, single moms and dads, can't POSSIBLY raise their child properly. Especially since I was a single mother myself. (And before you go accusing me of teaching my daughter to 'hate men' because apparently that's what you think people do--I'll say get fucked.) We're not living in the 1920's anymore. I know you wish we were, but we're not, and we're not going back to that time no matter how much your orange messiah wants to.

So, if nobody has to do anything based on what you or anyone else thinks..why do you blame the lgbt community for what conservatives think about you? You must realize that they already thought those things about you...purple hair or pink, before they knew you..and even back when the lgbt community properly knew it's place and kept it's filthy mouth shut.....? It seems, to me, as though you find yourself aping the propaganda of people who fucking -loathe- you, and always have...?
How did that happen.... and don't say "because of the lgbt community"...because you just established that these sorts of things aren't forced by anyone, they're your decisions, based upon what you value in your life.......
