Based on my understanding of the material I've read informs me it may be extensive. Additionally, I get the heebie jeebies when I read about medical procedures particularly those in my future. With an luck I'll be back on track by summer. So I guess I'm excited for that.
It seems like it never ends as well. Someone very close to me is having a bit of a health scare. Could I have a month without a health issue in the family? Third in as many months.
Looks like I need a meniscus repair and ACL reconstruction.

That's decent news considering a full knee replacement was an option. Had that exact surgery. Make sure they do an allograft and not a patellar BTB or hamstring graft for the ACL. I have had all three, and the allograft is the only one that is still an ACL. Some dead dude's ankle tendon is inside my knee.

That's exactly what I elected. I *really* didn't like the idea of harvesting from my hamstring.
He said I could get by without doing the ACL but I need it to be stable. I'd like to have confidence I'm able to manage about 120 lbs or more of dive gear on a pitching deck.
I have to wait a month though, I'm leaving for Mexico a week from Friday.
Full recovery time is expected to be 8 months. You know all about it, I'm sure. Ugh. I don't feel so great about that.
Good news: no sign of arthritis. I'm feeling pretty good about that.

Bit shook up by an altercation with a stranger when I simply called him out for being patronizing.

Well, if you are walking around with a massive meniscal rupture, I think your pain tolerance is pretty solid. The pain is moderate as far as surgeries go. I was off the pain meds after a week or so.
Worst part is the immobilization. But if you glue together your bong and buy the season pass for WatchDogs 2, you'll be fine.
