I've been to Europe 3 times. In two of those places most of the people we ran across spoke English fluently. The only problem we had was when we went to London where they have this atrocious accent.

We might be moving to Germany!

Haven't been to Germany.
Been to London and the UK a few times, but I was working so I couldn't get across to the continent, or, in the case of France, Incontinent. Min's right about the people who can't speak English. Those people are called "English", however. Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???"
Where in Germany, Aroura?
I gave a hung over 9am lecture at Universität Heidelberg a few years back. Wonderful place. Never felt so safe. Slave to the Patriarchy no more
Oh, that's exciting! Good luck, I hope everything works out for you.

(sorry, Alex - just too easy ) In the current political environment the joke would be on the winner of that bet. I know, sad isn't it? It's come down to this. The Statue of Liberty's raised hand is now as an upthrusted middle finger towards the tired, the poor, the huddled masses yearning to breath free, while the hope of western liberalism and everything that makes western principles universal and worth saving now lie with the state created by Otto von Bismarck.
Oh I'm so happy for you Aroura!

Way cool, 'Roar. Make the most of it.

Yeah I'm curious, too. Depending on whether it is Munich, Berlin or Hamburg, it can be a rather different experience
