Bolding mine. Does that complaint buff out? Angel  I've always spelled out an item, then put the acronym in parens, when I wrote technical documentation. I especially despise the use of buzzwords in technical literature, as I prefer to eschew verbal obfuscation. Big Grin

Generally if it's a simple phrase like "blood pressure" but the doctor is repeatedly saying "BP" I'll continue to spell it out, but with the more complex ones I do tend to give the acronym and use it in subsequent appearances.

Right! Saves a lot of time, once the acronym has been introduced. I worked awhile at a place where people made up names for components over time. A new person would come on the job and have to have what the "Bird Cage" was explained. Stupid, as the structure wasn't actually representative of a bird cage in any real way.

My favorite was a description of the bolt placement on how a machine was attached to the floor. There were three bolts- a bolt, the bolt diametrically opposed, and the last bolt, "non-diametrically opposed".  FFS, the guy never heard of "adjacent"? Dodgy  I guess he thought he was clever. He wasn't.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
