When exactly is someone a Christian though?

On that final day where we stand before Christ and are judged.

Nothing we can say or do 'makes us Christ.' We will never force God to accept our branding nor our rituals. According to Christ many will come to Him on that final day proclaiming to be 'great Christians.' He will then say he never knew them.

Nope sorry, that is your unproven naked assertion, nothing more.

There is no such thing as a magic baby born with super powers who ends up getting tortured to death whom magically comes back from the dead. I know you really like the idea of having a super hero, but just like Muslims and Mo and Allah, and Jews with Yahweh and Hindus with Brahama and Buddhists with reincarnation Nirvana, you have nothing but claims. Get in line and take a number.

Of course I cant force God to do anything, I also cant force Yoda to do anything either because both are fictional. I can however blaspheme, debate and ridicule your claims in hopes that cold water wakes you up out of your fantasy.

On the one hand I agree with this because some people use religion to get political leverage even while they might be privately as skeptical as any atheist.

In Hitler's case there seems to be at least anecdotal evidence of him showing significant skepticism and signs that his interests point towards scientific scepticism beyond anecdotal evidence.

On the other hand I don't really care about claims of people not being a true Christian or Muslim because they don't follow the "true" ways of Islam or Christianity.
I think Christians and Muslims can be aggressively violent despite the fact you can cherry pick verses from both the bible and the quran that promote peace for example.

Not saying you are wrong, bout the political stuff.. But if you read trump's book one of the men in whom he holds in having the greatest impact on his life (Taught Him/important to "win") It was his first priest. Stayed in contact with him and took care of him till the old man died.

So? That priest had little to nothing to do with why he is a fucking dick now. His daddy bullied Trump growing up. Trump desperately wanted to please his daddy so in turn Trump bullied others the way his dad bullied him., And while that made him successful it was not in a good way or moral way, he turned around and bullied lots of people and used courts and lawyers as a heat shield. Trump DOES NOT know or doesn't care about the difference between legal and moral.

There are also liberal celebrities and musicians and business people and politicians that can also point to a holy person they thought was influential. That doesn't prove any god real. People with other religions also point to their holy people too.

When you say "that sounds nice".  No thought in that. If you want to believe anything badly enough you will. Someone sold you something and you never considered the necessity of quality control of comparing and independent peer review. Humans peddle all sorts of bad claims and they can make their sales pitches in very elaborate ways. You simply fell for it.

FYI nobody "becomes" anything. We are all humans from the day we are born to the day we die. You only adapt a position or leave a position. I didn't "become" an atheist. My light switch is still a light switch, the only thing that changed was I left "on" for "off".

When did you "become" a non Muslim? Still make sense?
When did you "become" a non Hindu? Still make sense?
When did you "become" a non Jew? Still make sense?
When did you "become" a non Buddhist? Still make sense?

No, you were likely raised and sold a the religious belief as a kid, or you adapted your position but you didn't "become" anything. It isn't like your body literally goes from being a human to "becoming" a salamander. NO magic involved.

I was sold religion when I was a kid, when I didn't have adult critical thinking skills. When I started questioning that built up over time till my position changed. More like changing your cloths, like changing a hat or coat. You don't become a hat or a coat, but you can change a hat and coat.

I know how you like to believe some books are 100% truthful, but to take anything he says as true requires as much of a stretch of the imagination as the bible.

Well then this shows Hitler did have an interest in Darwin.  He might not have come to scientifically correct conclusions or morally right decisions but he seems to have shown interest in Darwin and the theory of evolution.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Hitler was as much a believer in evolutionary theory as our snowtracks.

When someone believes they are christian, they are christian.
If god was real he wouldn't need middle men to explain his wants or do his bidding.

Yep.

Hitler based his eugenics programs on the practices of ancient Sparta, not evolutionary theory.

Nazi Eugenics

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

Yep, but the sub sects always argue the other sects got it wrong while they all point to other clubs whom point at them and say they got it wrong. "You aren't doing it right" is a bullshit argument. Both Bin Laden and Malala are Muslims, one was monster asshole and Malala, as kind as she is both still have the same core god and core book.

Even with atheists. Ayn Rand was an atheist, but I hate her, she had the same economic "fuck you I got mine" attitude as her Catholic worshiper fan in Paul Ryan. But Ayn was just as much an atheist as I am. How I wish others sharing my label would behave does not change the core umbrella label I may share with another atheist.

But it still not "becoming" it is adapting a position. Like having no hat on then putting a hat on. Or having a hat on, taking it off and putting another hat on, your head is still your head regardless of what hat you have on.

I didn't "become" an atheist, I simply took my Catholic hat off and put an atheist hat on. Just like a light switch is still a light switch but only switches from on to off or off to on. It isn't becoming anything new, just changing a position.
