Add-ons to make ramen more interesting?

We used get them and stash them in our "steaming lockers" in the engineroom. (I was stationed at Yokosuka at the time.) I left off the dessicated fish and veggies and just ate them with the soy sauce, water drained first, of course. So it's kind of a habit for me that goes back 35 years.

(Not in school, just eating what isn't fast enough to escape.)

Steak, some mashed potato, peppers smothered in Diane sauce and garden peas. Then throw away the noodles.

Hate to admit missing out on some kind of shared communal dining ordeal, but to my knowledge, I've never ramen.

And this thread is not making me curious to try . . . .

spam believe it or not makes ramen even more tasty. Ramen on its own with condiments such as soy sauce, srihacha etc
are fine but don't add any real flavor. Adding meat preferably cooked meats or even fish as well makes it even more tasty because
it gives the noodles more depth and flavor. Even with a cup of noodles i tend to add fresh vegetables like green onion, parsley, etc
along with some chicken or beef i had from the other night. The last time i had ramen i added some medium rare stake into it that i cooked and
i have to say best damn ramen i had.

I see I understressed the practicality issue here. If I can't carry it easily in one hand it might as well stay in the microwave.

It's Japanese Doritos.

Since Seafood Ramen with squid ink, mussels and salmon roe appears to be out

Catholic Lady's suggestion of egg and green onion would be my go to. You can soft boil the egg or just scramble it. The latter is how they served it in Korea when I was there. If you want to go Japanese with the egg try Ajitsuke Tamago.

You can put practically any kind of meat or vegetable you like in it, but any kind of sprout works well.

Am I the only one that actually likes instant noodles? I probably eat them 4 times a week (and I wonder why I can't lose weight lol) and I have a stash of them both at work and home. I eat all kinds but I normally only add hot sauce to them. Pretty much have been doing this since middle school. My mom used to threaten me becoming a noodle if I kept eating pasta daily. I would just quote Dharma and throw my hands up yelling "I'm a fettuccine noodle!"

Anywho I concur with a few others eggs are good in them too. I don't care for srihacha sauce myself but I like spicy mayo... not on noodles though.

Also if your signature makes my scrolling mess up "you're tacky and I hate you."

I've seen the Japanese wasabi KitKat and the Japanese black squid ink American cheese food product, and I'm not even going to inquire further about 'Japanese Doritios'.
