Problem for your prejudice is that we've plenty of evidence backing our worst fears about the Republitraitor party. Very few of us listen to the lies of Faux News like you do, instead we prefer being part of the reality-based community your beloved traitors deride.

Many atheists are liberal, socially progressive and completely illogical in areas of politics and emotional control. I have done my utmost best to rationalize why this is so and the more I attempt to, the more I desire religion to be in my life. On the other hand I cannot take religion seriously because of its illogical assertion of deities which is even more irrational to me.

I find atheism as of now detrimental to society because of the void it creates that inevitably gets filled by something ludicrous like social progressivism. I see atheists arguing for "equal-marriage" and transgender rights while I sit back in disbelief questioning how you can belief in biological evolution and contradict your opinions with homosexuality and its place in society. I can only wonder if people are capable of distinguishing a fetish from sexual normalcy.

I see atheists getting duped by so many things in the social realm while politicising things that are either contradictory or irrational. I see the same thing from theists as well obviously yet I also see consistency and unity that is unshakable and consistent. I can witness potential and growth in the religious and only witness degeneration in atheism. Atheism is not a positive afterall and there is no claim being made from it, yet any ideological statement that is originating from secular thought is asinine to me.

I am here stuck between two delusions and one I find emotionally satisfying and the other I find intellectually enriching. I do not know if I am alone on this or if this is a common sentiment.

So - essentially - you despise atheists for reasons that have bugger all to do with atheism.  Got it.

The universe works the way it works, not how some atheists want it to work.

For me, I see anti-religious types starting a line of logic with "anti-religion'. That starting points warps world views as much as "the universe must love me.". Theist don't own the rights to stupid.

Fundamentalist anti-unicornists tend to start their logic with "anti-unicorn". That's quite foolish of them.

What?! Where??? Tell me where you've seen them, I'm a cut them!

Comet, if I gave you a box, what is the default assumption you have about the box until evidence shows otherwise? You assume it's empty. Till I hand u the box and the box is heavier than it should be if it were just a box. Till you shake the box, and feel whatever is in the box, bounce around inside the box.

For that matter, why would I assume to take into account something with zero proof of its existence? Why would I assume there was anything in the box without proof that there was? You could tell me there is, and I'd have to trust you that you're telling me the truth. Which doesn't seem like a solid way to know, anything. What if you're lying or mistaken?

Then the only way to know is to confirm between you and i that there is something in the box. But when you open the box and its empty, and proceed go tell me theres something you or I can't see or quantify whatsoever in the box and I need faith to assume something is in the box.. then we are beyond confirming reality.

Personally, I'm going to assume that there's nothing until proven otherwise.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Horizontal or vertical action, I'll take what I can get.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I don't give a fuck about rock crushers when there are more important concerns. Give me a garlic crusher that doesn't break apart within a short time of buying it and then I'll consider rock crushers.

Let's not run until we can walk.
