I think if clipse wants to gain insight into why they felt inspired to leave Islam, they might want to read the book, "Why We Left Islam". Written as a compilation of testimonials of former Muslims.

Leaving atheism and returning to Islam based on what YouTube videos provided as "proof" Islam is a legitimate faith who's claims are valid when scientific "miracles" are noted in the Koran, is not a serious study for cause to commit one's life to the doctrine.

This site was created by Muslim apostates who sought to lead those in doubt about Islam, out of the fold.

Thanks for your responses people, my intent wasn't to come on here and defend my faith or have a debate.That wasn't the purpose of this thread. I was just looking to see what the Atheist view was on the Islamic science references. It has obviously come to my attention that people have their doubts about what the Quran says , therefore do not believe in the scientific references. I did not make this thread to change your minds about anything, what you believe is what you believe. It wasn't to my knowledge that people tried to debunk the scientific references and I can honestly say that I didn't research every single scientific reference myself. Therefore I am simply just going to do more research on the debunking of these scientific references and find refutes for them.

What I will do is, make other threads pertaining to the "debunking", and refute the claims.

I now have an idea of what the Atheist view is on this topic, and this thread has served its purpose. Thanks for your responses and I hope no one took any offense, if you did, that wasn't my intention and I apologize. Again thanks for the responses.

Or you could take some college level science classes that include lab work, and find out for yourself what is actually possible (and what is not possible) using the scientific method. By the way, fresh water and salt water do, indeed, mix. I had a marine aquarium for 20 years, and so I know for a fact from personal experience that they do mix. The water in your body is very salty. But you drink fresh water. If they didn't mix, you'd soon dehydrate.

Plants rely on salinity (among other things) to aide in the uptake of water. The water within a plants cells is by definition saltier than the fresh water outside. It is precisely this mechanic that prevents terrestrial plants from growing in salt water. The water itself is saltier than the plants cells, leading to water moving away from the plant (in fact through its retention mechanisms). The result is what we may call a "burned" plant, in reality, it is dehydrated, even though it may be floating in a sea of water. In this case, the fresh water is all to willing to mix with saltwater. Find me some verses in the quran which predict a discovery. I like my miracles to be miraculous, not disingenuous.

If you want a more dramatic proof that pure water and salt water do mix, put some salt on a common or garden slug.

Tip: The slug's skin is a semipermeable membrane covered in mucus, which is wet.
Tip 2: The slug is full of not-very-salty water.
Tip 3: Osmosis.
