Out-Damn-Standing ya nit-wit.  You just proved my freaken point with that close minded statement.

Next we can debate the benefits of tax sponsored religious organizations and events, gay rights, woman’s rights, the rights of a fetus, the muslim right of consent to be nine years old, and let’s say the right to own slaves. I bet you're extremely close minded on most (if not all) of those issues. Hell, anyone that can have their mind changed on issues like that doesn’t know where they stand to begin with. Thus…. Extremely close minded.

And making an 'extremely' subjective generalized statement about the most ill-defined group ever isn't? Again, FUCK OFF WITH THAT BULLSHIT. And the examples you've given are shite. One side has to tap-dance around what the narrow scope of some old books say and, as many different perspective as there may be besides that one, the one I subscribe to bases it on what the scientific evidence has to say coupled with a secular humanist morality standpoint which is extremely open to situational cases with an objective outcome still at the pinnacle. Way to project a closed-minded stereotype onto someone else. We should make a coded index of every dipshit tactic just so we can abbreviate them to numbers or two- or three-letter substitutions.

I wouldn't have said anything if you hadn't used that subjective bullshit 'extremely' in your statement. That kind of hyperbole is fucking insulting and I'm sick of it, especially when you're applying it to atheism and not taking care to differentiate the myriad groups within them. I don't throw the same arguments at Buddhists as I do Xtians or Muslims. Non-belief in one thing doesn't imply belief or non-belief in any other thing. Fucking figure that shit out before you open your mouth.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

That's all right we forgive you. Now as penance, say ten decades of the rosary, in Latin; three Hail Marys (and not the short version, neither), in Tagalog, and five Our Father's, in Chaucerian English. And then go out, my son/daughter (delete as appropriate) and help an old lady cross the road.

Gracias. It's always nice to have a third party confirmation. Something I'm sure we'd never get an impartial one in a religiously based message board.

I keep discovering that it's only a good deed if they WANT to cross the road!

After our exchange yesterday, you're the last person who should be complaining about someone being close-minded.

I'll hunt up the link if you've forgotten already.

Or if they want to exercise their independence by doing it on their own. Way to fuck with their self-esteem.

Thumper, I'm curious about this exchange you mentioned now that this person has pissed me off.

Hey. It's you again.
At what point did I complain about anyone being close minded? I'm close minded as hell. I don't care if the whole world is.

A theist is accusing atheists of going through the narrow gate, while the theists claim to go through the broad gate.

Well, I think I'll just turn the other cheek. or has that also become a vice when atheists do it?

It was always a virtue for the choirboys, hard to see why they'd object.

Oh, wait, you're an adult female. Never mind.
Wasn't thinking about that cheek, but yeah you're right.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.

I may defend your right to free speech, but i won't help you pass out flyers.
