Honoring George Washington, Unwelcoming...Please Keep it Up

Christ Church is now planning on removing the memorial to Washington because "“The plaques in our sanctuary make some in our presence feel unsafe or unwelcome. Some visitors and guests who worship with us choose not to return because they receive an unintended message from the prominent presence of the plaques..." Lol, are you trying to get yourself banned, Neo? The sooner the better as far as I'm concerned.

Is anyone missing a stick?
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
LOL because its about me, right.
Where the curiosity about why honoring George Washington in the church he helped founded is problematic for some people? Can't anyone else see the madness of a culture that reviles the courage, piety, and principles that gave birth to one of the greatest republics ever in the history of the world? What is wrong with you people? Political correctness and identity politics are destroying civilization from within and some of you would rather mock and ignore the enemy in your midst. First off the Washington Times is a Moonie newspaper so it doesn't surprise me that you're a fan. Right-wing shitheads.
CNN reported the story somewhat differently. http://www.cnn.com/2017/10/29/politics/c...index.html Quote:In response to violent protests over the fate of a Confederate statue in Charlottesville, Virginia earlier this year, a 244-year-old Episcopal church in Alexandria is planning to move a set of plaques honoring former parishioners Robert E. Lee and George Washington. Quote:In addition to the two plaques, there are other markers sprinkled throughout the church honoring Washington and Lee, including markers for parish donations and for the pews where they sat during times of worship. None of those other markers are to be moved, York-Simmons said. "People can come visit, can sit where great people have sat in prayer. We have no intention of wanting to erase history or change history or pretend that history didn't happen. We're proud of it."Oh, and btw, I do not wonder for a moment why YOU voted for the WLB. You're two of a kind. (October 31, 2017 at 9:15 pm)Neo-Scholastic Wrote: LOL because its about me, right. “You people”? The article makes it pretty clear that the church made the decision. What do you expect a bunch of atheists to say about an internal church matter? If they value keeping the pews full and the offerings rolling in more than they do honoring historical figures, what concern is that of mine? Why aren’t you pissed off at your fellow Christians in that church? For the record, I esteem Washington far more highly than any Biblical figure, so it wouldn’t have broken my heart if they had left up the plaque and taken down their gruesome cross. But again, church politics are of no concern to me. Quote: If they value keeping the pews full and the offerings rolling in As all churches do to the exclusion of virtually all else.
I didn't read the article but, I assume by your last post, that it doesn't mention why people are feeling uncomfortable, or whatever, about the plaques?
If that information was provided, perhaps we could get more context on the reason for removal of them. Of course, I simply don't bother reading the articles you post, or for that matter, the posts themselves, usually, simply because of the attitude you display and the way you portray these articles. On the other hand, I also don't read the articles and posts put up that criticise Trump and his coven in the White House. The reason for that? I'm simply sick of hearing/reading about him.
