I only got one, where's my kudos guys?

Anyhoo, I recently heard it described like this "The mind is one of the things your brain does"
Your guys are in a quandary. They know that 'mind then matter' is more reasonable; however, that's the theist position which you support, so no more kudos for you.

"mind then matter" is completely barking mad.
The mind is part of the output of a working brain, there is no evidence at all that a mind can exist without some sort of physical medium in which to do its stuff and indeed you can see the physical activity of the brain that is thought and memory and sensing and even memory.
I'm not sure how anyone can say that mind precedes brain and keep a straight face.

Did you mean 'mind is the output of a functioning brain'?
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

The fear of hell is not irrational, who would not be scared of having an eternal torture by fire?

I certainly don't like the sensation of being burned, it really hurts at the time, and for ages after. Naughty religion knows this and threatens us with it.

Take the easy route, accept gebus and no blisters or seeping hot wounds.

Its one of the outputs of a functioning brain. The brain also controls temperature and breathing rate etc etc.

So you meant 'mind is the output of a functioning brain', right?

Negative infinity to recently, then suddenly a brain assemblies itself without thought, hardly.

You think that brains are assembling themselves...with thought...or even assembling themselves at all? I ask, because....well.... that's not at all how the development of the brain appears to take place.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Brains evolved from simpler systems just like every other complex organ.

Quote:From fossil records, scientists can infer that the first brain structure appeared in worms over 500 million years ago. The functions of the hindbrain found in the fossil records included breathing, heart beat regulation, balance, basic motor movements and foraging skills. A trend in brain evolution according to a study done with mice, chickens, monkeys and apes concluded that more evolved species tend to preserve the structures responsible for basic behaviors. What this means is that evolution is the process of acquiring more and more sophisticated structures, not simply the addition of different structures over a long period of time.[2] A long term study comparing the human brain to the primitive brain found that the modern human brain contains the primitive hindbrain region – what most neuroscientists call the protoreptilian brain. The purpose of this part of the brain is to sustain fundamental homeostatic functions. The pons and medulla are major structures found there. A new region of the brain developed about 250 million years after the appearance of the hindbrain. This region is known as the paleomammalian brain, the major parts of which are the hippocampi and amygdalas, often referred to as the limbic system. The limbic system deals with more complex functions including emotional, sexual and fighting behaviors.

You appear to glory in your ignorance.

Why is that?
