Theists, Who would You Rather Have as a Neighbor

Pray, tell me what an atheist and Christian are supposed to act like in your eyes.

Also, I haven't been "taught" anything about atheists. Take the assertions about me out of option A, and i'd choose it.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

LOL, Neo being Neo.

It's an eay chopice between an asshole christian and a nice atheist.  It;s also an easy choice between an asshole atheist and a nice christian, there;s no choice to make between a nice atheist and a nice christian - toss a fuckin coin, who cares......but where it get's really fun........

-is the choice between an asshole atheist and an asshole christian.

With an asshole atheist neighbor...at least I won't have to worry about stinkeyes and chic tracts turning up everywhere when he notices my slut daughter coming home too late in those godless miniskirts that make him feel unholy in his downtheres.

Now will I.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

If the labels/stereotypes are dropped and it came down to choosing between person A, a nice/friendly neighbor who treats people like people and who can constructively handle/manage difference, or person B, a jerk  neighbor who objectifies people and is only concerned about himself and forcing his views onto others who are different, then IMO, most reasonable, rational people would choose person A to be their neighbor.

I vehemently disagree with the idea that you can safely assume the personality type of somebody just by a label. I mean, yeah, there are exceptions; I think I could assume a thing or two about, say, an ISIS fighter's personality. But people are fucking complex, and it is their life experience that shapes them, not belief in God or opinion on abortion. So to assume things based on whether somebody is "atheist" or "Christian" or "liberal" or "conservative" ticks me off. And so many people do it to the label they see as opposite their own. It promotes divisiveness. And then, the FUNNIEST (or saddest) thing is that, when, say, a liberal generalizes conservatives, the conservative does it to the liberal with the excuse that "they did it to me first!" Grow up you big goddamn baby.

So that's why I want Neo to clarify his post. Because I have no clue what the fuck your typical atheist or your typical Christians are supposed to "act like," and I'd love to be enlightened.

I would have option A on one side, and option B on the other.

I doubt most Muslims in the west pray loud and outside. Now having said that, I would not want to live next to a church ringing bells on the half hour and hour, nor a Mosque belting out prayers on a public address system. But I don't think simply having a Muslim as a direct neighbor in the west I'd hear their prayers in an every day residential house.

Holy places I would not want to live next to directly because of traffic and possible noise for events. But I also would not want to live next to a Highschool football field for the same reason.

Point is I've had noisy neighbors in my life, but my objection to them had nothing to do with religion, just their noise. I like quiet neighbors. Right now I do have an asshole neighbor a few houses down who lets his dog bark all day. THAT annoys the shit out of me. I will say this though, he at least does not let the dog do that all night. I think he brings the dog in.

That has been fought successfully.  Fuckers do not have a right to disturb the peace no matter how much they believe in absurd fairy tales.

It is all utter rubbish. I am an atheist. My immediate neighbours are 1) an atheist and 2) a god fearing theist.

Nevertheless, when I busted my ankle, both handed me food, full on cooked dinners. In turn, I handed out my expertise and climbed ladders fit curtains and light fittings and whatever.

The notion that atheism is some sort of excuse for narcissism is baloney that theists use to pat themselves on the back. And it doesn't really work.

Oh, my post wasn't directed towards you. It was in response to the oroginal thread post.
