The most beautiful thing to me about the world.

RE: The most beautiful thing to me about the world.
You really don't get it Brian. Every religion proved God from some angles  Atheists do away with mythology as if it is all garbage. If you want only the truth and nothing but the truth, obviously, you need to come to the source through it's door which must have proofs.

Of course religions are going diverge from the truth or they would not be religions. There would be only one religion if not of them diverged.

But to think humans hold on to religions with no elements of truth is foolish.

To call it all false because it is mixed with falsehood is foolish.

Mystic,

OF COURSE the world is full of beautiful things. We'd agree if a Christian or Jew or Hindu or Buddhist said the the same thing. YES, there is lots of wonderful awesome things in life.

My mom was AWESOME. My best friend John a liberal redneck from Oklahoma, IS AWESOME. My cat Sarah, he is AWESOME TOO.

I think the ocean is awesome to look at on a sunny warm calm day. I think a pretty night time sky is AWESOME to look at.

But cancer is NOT awesome. Famine and pollution are NOT awesome. Child rape is NOT awesome. War is not awesome. Hurricanes are powerful, but suck for those in it's path. Volcanos suck if you get stuck in their path. Meteors hit planets in our solar system all the time, just look at the pock marks in the moon. They could very easily do to humans what one did to the dinosaurs 65 million years ago.

The only difference between you, and a Christian and a Jew and a Hindu and a Buddhist and an atheist like me, is I don't assign good or bad to old writings or holy people.

Are there pretty things in life? ABSOLUTELY. Are there good humans worldwide? ABSOLUTELY! Can you be good and do good? ABSOLUTELY!

But the atheist does not see either good or bad, between humans, or even natural disaster as being some magical thing regulating us controlled by a divine source.

I understand your stance Brian, I just don't think it's rational when so many cultures have proven God and the soul, and didn't expect people to accept these two things blindly.

Yes all sorts of things without proof get mixed with it, and that is wrong, but God and the soul are proven by most cultural frameworks of what they teach proves God.

Again, MK demonstrates to us that he does not know what the word "proof" means.
Nay_Sayer: “Nothing is impossible if you dream big enough, or in this case, nothing is impossible if you use a barrel of KY Jelly and a miniature horse.”

Wiser words were never spoken.

No no no no.........

You are the one not getting it.

Think of as most babies WORLDWIDE like an empty chalkboard, or a puppy. It is very easy to fill that empty head with fantasy before the kid can form adult thinking skills.

Yes, Buddhists think they got it right. Yes, Hindus think they got it right. Yes Jews think they got it right. Yes, Christians think they got it right. You think you got it right.

Science in a very literal context proves that our species are notorious for having false perceptions.

Just because something is popular does not make it true, otherwise the earth would be flat which the vast majority of the world thought in antiquity.

Of course humans believe false things, just like a dog or cat can challenge it's own reflection in a mirror. Just like a kid will believe in Santa if you sell the idea to them at birth.

Yes, most people have a religion and God belief, but that does not make any God real.

I have far too much objections to any theism knowing the age of the planet and universe to buy into any claim of what is really nothing more than a local social norm any given society sells it's youth.

It is understandable why people fall for it sure, because even a false perception if enough people buy and sell it, can create safety in numbers. The Ancient Egyptians were successful long before Islam and Christianity and even Hebrews. The Ancient Egyptians were successful for 3,000 years as a society falsely centered around their polytheistic Gods you rightfully reject.

I don't see any currently held club, immune to the same flaws in logic.

I do hold the position that theists ARE capable of doing good and being good. I simply don't agree that it is being handed to humans from a divine magical place.
