Honeystone, Whatevs. That's our name. Inc. and everything. It would be a Honeystone Peach (hows that for irony)*.

So you never let them stick it in? I'm always taken aback the first time I get out and start to fill my tank on a trip to Oregon. I think the policy makes some sense. People need jobs. Socialism for the win.

If not..though, fuck yall I'm rich! You'll never see me again.
Can't wait to sink my teeth into a genuine Khemical Peach. (Might have to work on the name though.)

So you never let them stick it in? I'm always taken aback the first time I get out and start to fill my tank on a trip to Oregon. I think the policy makes some sense. People need jobs. Socialism for the win. It's illegal to let them put the pump in their cars themselves. We absolutely cannot, under any circumstances, let them do it. Unless it's diesel and not gasoline, the laws don't apply to diesel.
I think it's dumb because we are trying to go very fast to get to the next customers, and of course we are careful, but us being as fast as possible sometimes looks like we're not being careful with their cars. Some people would rather do it themselves in order to feel like their cars are better taken care of. In fact, I have had a few customers tell me this.
That's not even the worst part. They have to wait for me, and sometimes I'm the only one on a side, and other customers are sometimes slow. So they have to wait for a few minutes, and that's lame.
However, I am still in support of this law, I just wish it wasn't so strict.
I don't know how many of you have noticed, but people are idiots when they go to the gas station. Every person has times when they are thoughtful, and times when they just don't care to think very much. Most people which I have seen are having their stupid moments when getting gas. The gas pumpers have enough fuel spills as it is, and at least we are trained in how to handle a fuel spill. I bet there are a hell of a lot more fuel spills in other states.
And also, it is much easier to prevent people from smoking at the pump or putting gas in the wrong containers this way.
And I bet this law is, in fact, in place for the jobs. I think that's silly, but whatever, the reduced amount of fuel spills protects the environment and keeps our forests healthy(Until some idiot with a firework burns the forests down, of course. ![Angry Angry](https://atheistforums.org/images/smilies/angry.gif) )

I think someone here posted something about the teens (?) who started a huge fire in the Columbia gorge. Idiots.
I've never had a gas leak while pumping but I did once drive off with the spout still in the tank. (I was driving my new pup up to the U.C. Davis pet hospital with a broken jaw when he was 10 weeks old.) Fortunately the thing came off clearly at the pump and the guy came out of the booth to say just leave it, happens all the time. Weird. Never saw that happen to anyone else.

So, I got the job I wanted and I'm really happy about it!
I'm so happy! WOO!
Finally, a job where I can focus on my studies.
I'll be working at the student bookstore at my school, and they are super accommodating because it's designed for students. So I'll only have to work like 10 hours a week and I get to focus on being a college student for once!
I'm just really happy and relieved. It's hard going to school while working 32 hours per week, and my grades suffer for it. It makes me so mad because I really want to dedicate myself to my studies and grades, and before I couldn't and there was nothing I could do about it. It made me mad that the reason I couldn't get perfect grades was out of my control.
So what good news does everyone else have?
An uplifting opening post for once, and it's a beauty. Piddling about in a library? Now that's a job I would dearly love, and indeed I did try a while ago. The satellite public libraries around these parts are all but closed due to the usual budget cuts, so I applied for a skivie job, putting books on shelves and that sort of thing. They needed references going back ten years, they needed a criminal background check, they needed a medical report.
They needed to go and fuck themselves.
That particular library is still closed and is no more than three minutes walk from my house. But anyway, these days I put in a few hours a week at a job seekers advisory centre helping folk create an E-mail account or help them compile a CV.
There are benefits, I can log on to the web anonymously and find the best spot to place shaped charges around public buildings.
No not the library it's empty, the council offices and all the hundreds of people who plot my downfall.
Watch this space.
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.

It happens so often that the hoses are designed for a clean break.

After wrestling with paperwork and playing telephone tag and running hither and yon on sundry errands for over a year, today I managed to settle my late mom's estate and send the last shares of money where they were supposed to go. Forecast for 2018: Substantially fewer headaches. Forecast for later this week: With some of my share I'm going to take my ancient bass clarinet in for repadding.
