(November 22, 2017 at 3:31 am)Bow Before Zeus Wrote: Oh yes, I don't live in Queensland, thankfully. I've seen it a number of times. The thing that xtians don't get is that it parodies so many things, not just christianity.
And it really isn't a parody of Jesus. He is treated respectfully.
I remember seeing an interview with protesters in front of a theater when it came out. None, including the pastor/leader, had seen the movie. They were told it was blasphemy, and that was enough for them. If this doesn't illustrate the sheepyness of believers, I don't know what else can.

I remember the initial advertising for LOB. "The story of a man born the same day as jesus but three doors down."
Still the funniest movie ever made.

There are the Infancy "gospels of Thomas and James. Of course everyone, even jesus freaks, knows that those are frauds. There are many fraudulent gospels that even xtians admit are frauds.
When they finally wise up and realize that the other 4 are frauds too we'll be getting somewhere.

I will be happy when this thread dies. Was it necessary to put it in all caps and make it a focal point? I am getting frustrated seeing it pop up in the new posts.

Does the Mary story more closely resemble the Tamar & Judah story of Genesis chapter 38 or the story of Isaiah and the prophetess in Isaiah chapter 8?
