Yeah very few people have ever argued that we should base our morals off of evolution. Evolution is not the atheist's god.

It seems that comes up quite a bit (in my experience), for those trying to find an objective basis for morality from an atheistic viewpoint.

I have never heard anyone say "evolution says that X is right or wrong."

That is evolution, it's not an intelligent thing, it supports those who are physically the strongest and more able to impose their will.   Amazing that your god (supposedly an intelligence) would endorse it or make it that way though, seems he too is at the mercy of survival of the fittest.

No, it makes perfect sense. His will was that we be fruitful and fill the earth. We're disobedient, so a strong sex drive and sexual dimorphism were necessary to accomplish that goal.

The point is now it is being challenged and we can look forward I hope to a better future for both our young men and women.  It wont be easy though, truth never is.

What truth? The truth is that, from either a religious or atheist view, women were made so that they could be dominated by men. Attempts to bypass that truth result in negative population growth and the eventual demise of the species.

And neither did I. Morals are subjective. Do whatever you like with them. But he was talking about truth.

Saying that evolution has engendered us with empathy is not saying that evolution is the basis of morals.  There are plenty of things that came along with evolution that everyone agrees are immoral, like xenophobia or inclinations to violence, for example. Evolution has resulted in some good, moral tendencies and behaviors, and some bad, immoral tendencies and behaviors. Acknowledging the source of these behaviors doesn't make it the arbiter of morality.

In the BDSM scene (which includes Christian BDSM), female submissives are rare and male subs are a dime a dozen because there are so many of them. There are far more male subs than male doms.

And you can't explain this as being about sex because it doesn't happen in a BDSM club. It's about the need to dominate or to submit.

And you think your experience in the BDSM scene is representative of the species as a whole because...?

I wouldn't look to a freakish subculture as indicative of anything widespread and normative.

Many of us would say that evolution gave us the morals we already have. Such as certain behaviors giving survival advantages, thus making humans (and sometimes animals) prone to these behaviors more likely to survive to pass on their genes.

But as FAF said Atheists don't base their morals off of evolution.  In that we don't say evolution tells us to do this or that. It's a pretty big distinction.

When you start to explore consensual power exchange you notice the same dynamics happening throughout society, albeit most often in a non-consensual, implicit and unequal way.

The lack of equal rights in society will skew how easily someone can satisfy all their different needs but one thing is for sure, the urges to dominate and submit are inherent needs in both men and women.

There may be a more of a tendency for men to dominate for example, but in my experience working in a male dominated field they are also more easily dominated by other men in a power hierarchy in the workplace or an institution.

You also cannot argue that people who partake in BDSM are unrepresentative of the species as a whole. There is a broad spectrum of types who partake in these activities. Even right wing christians like you who refer to themselves as 'alpha males'.
