I wish they'd do an experiment on this. Two tribes brought up in isolation one with religious influences the other without. My money is on the non religious tribe eating each other once they run out of resources because why not? lol. Despite what we all like to believe humans by nature gravitate towards evil, we are just easier to domesticate because we are good learners.

I'm starting to think that, should I ever go down in a plane over Peru..the smart thing to do would be to check necks for crosses.....christianity appears to be a halfway house for degenerates who would eat people as soon as their god turns his back. If objective morality is real, then surely you have evidence that it's wrong to... for example, work on Sunday's as the bible dictates. Prove it to me. You can't use the bible--because an objective truth would not need such a subjective text to prove itself. I can, for example, demonstrate gravity by dropping an apple. Surely you can provide real evidence that as your god states, that it is immoral to work on Sundays. I'll be waiting (i imagine forever)

Probably more a consequence of the quality of the overall field of gods than anything. If 99/100 of them are shit..there's a high chance that a person will end up with a shit god when they set out to pick one.

Have you ever heard of The Donner Party? They were a Christian group of 85 people (about the same size as most tribes) who, while traveling west, were trapped in an early snow fall in the Sierra Nevada mountains. They ran out of resources, just like your hypothetical tribes, and take a guess what happened. The turned to cannibalism to survive.
