My 17 year old Maltese. She's sitting nicely because I have a treat in the hand not holding the camera.

Definitely a first world dog ...Her only serious issues are whether to hold off on the boiled chicken or wait for a schmacko first?

Yeah, she's not too picky about her food, as long as there is some chicken or turkey added. We created that issue when she had an abscessed tooth and could only eat thoroughly diced soft food until we got her to the vet. She's no stranger to dirt, though. She used to dig up peanuts that the squirrels buried in our yard. The squirrels got the nuts from one neighbor. She broke some teeth on the rocks that were in the ground with the peanuts. Thus, the tooth problems. She's a real sweetie, and will come right up to anyone as if they are her friend for life. The lizards in the yard will go up to her, nose to nose, and if she's sunning herself, birds will come down where she is and hop around, taking a dirt bath without fear. Useless as tits on a boar, and not too bright. But that's not what we hired her for.

Did they have adult heart worms? Your dogs may not have been at the same stage or had the same worm load.
The injections are into a large muscle in the back, hence the shaving with long hair (these dogs get shaved even for a blood draw). She was touch and go for a long while. If I recall correctly she was on cage rest for 4 months. But then she had other co-morbid issues.

Any dog that is positive on an antigen test or microfilaria test has adults already. It's not possible for them to be MF+ and not have adults.
If The Flintstones have taught us anything, it's that pelicans can be used to mix cement.

She loves laying against my PS4. I think it is because of the heat it emits.

You are correct, my bad.
