Not all of them. Moderate regarding religion country, a few lot like to believe, and the vast majority cafeteria catholics and those do not talk about gods at all. Around here, most of them keep to themselves. Its a good thing.

Yep, I'll have to remain in the at the dork table.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Are you sure you understand the religious mindset?
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.

This would be a good question for the debate thread. Rather than having atheists answer for us.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

The swag. That's why they do the most absurd mental gymnastics to avoid the idea that there's bad stuff in their holy books, that God isn't perfect, that there's no reason to believe that God exists or that there is no evidence of an afterlife. It's also why doubts about their faith makes them feel blasphemous and bolsters their faith. It's an act of self-deception to avoid reality. They get the fear of hell indoctrinated into them but what's really hard to shake off is their own fear of meaninglessness and nihilism. They obviously aren't consciously doing this but when it all comes down to it: How many theists do you know that believes in God but wishes God didn't exist? They believe it because they can't face the alternative, ultimately.

Everyone can answer here but I agree it would be a great question for the thread Smile

I agree. Since more people answer the poll here than chose a question from any of the remaining ones in the poll thread, I think I'll post this one for tomorrow Smile

Are you OK with Allah sending most of your women relations to burn in hell fire?  A lot of peope don't think that those are the actions of a swell guy.

Shiite hadiths say most people of paradise are women, Sunni hadiths say most people of hell are women....

But at the end, I actually withhold beliefs from both as far as this matter goes.
