Why would anyone care if Darwin existed or not, except out of historical interest? Science doesn’t work like religion. It doesn’t matter who wrote what he wrote. These tu quoques are really missing the mark.

(And of course, whoever wrote it has been shown to be wrong about several things. Science doesn’t dogmatically follow anyone.)

Nope. Just about ANY amount of CREDIBLE evidence is usually sufficient in order to accept a claim as at least a realistic possibility, warranting further investigation. It does scale somewhat with the prior probability, though, so if you want us to believe in magic - you'd better have something better, than some old book of tall tales, written by iron age goat-herders.
