I believe that the act of homosexual sex is a sin, just the same as sex outside of marriage, stealing, lying or many other things that God decreed as sins, however, none of these sins will keep a person out of Heaven if that person accepts the fact that Jesus died to pay the penalty for their sins. Salvation is given to anyone, anywhere in the world, that accepts Jesus free gift of forgiveness.

Now, I know that some will say "What about the person that never heard of Jesus?" and all I can respond, through faith, is that God said in the Bible that He has put the knowledge of Him and a persopns need for a Saviour in the heart of every living person and if a person acknowledges their sin and their need for a Saviour (which the Jews did before Jesus was born) then they are saved.

MY belief is that organised religion is one of the greatest confidence tricks ever perpetrated on the human race. That includes individual dickheads with the hubris to presume I need them to interpret sacred books or mediate on my behalf with the define. (if I believe in the divine,which I don't)

Well, the new testament is contradictory concerning who gets saved or damned. Either it is by faith (Paul) or works (Synoptic Gospels, particular of Matthew) or both (Letter of James). That contradictory mass forced Christians to develop tools such as exegesis and hermeneutics in order to create coherence doctrine, even the results aren't ideal.

I do find it rather amusing that when one asks a "religious" person questions regarding their "belief system" the majority are unable to cope. Then you get others who stick by their "belief system" with statements like "it works for me"

I think that I would have more regard for someone who says "yeah it seems illogical, but it works for me" than anyone who gets "offended" that their belief system gets questioned.
