That's because dumbass phony Christians worship a god that has more in common with Zeus than Yahweh. "Satan" seems like an odd blend of Loki, Pan and Hades.

In any case I think we can all agree that Christians ruin Christmas every year.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

It's exactly why Christians do have Christmas trees, because it''s not an idol and has no power. You forgot about Isaiah's tree example. For me and almost every Christian I own, it's just a decoration of the season we could do without. I personally hate putting up trees and decoration and lights. Maybe I should convince my wife that it's an idol and we shouldn't have it. Totally unimportant side note -
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

You own Christians? I know the bible says stuff about slavery, but really, that's taking it too far.
Quote:Feel free to rant about your religious persecution and hatred of religion, whatevs, it's your forum, but it's patently obvious that discourse (civil or vitriolic) doesn't even cross the minutest scope of intention for anyone displaying that behavior. Maybe I should have suggested that you can select an option when starting a threat to pop up a disclaimer "this is a rant and my view is all that matters" or "I would like to discuss and will attempt to be civil" Feel free to start your own thread.
I don't think too many people regardless of worldview or religious background stress too much about a "War on Christmas." The ones who do care are either people telling Christians they are wrong, or Christians getting defensive over others doing so. Regardless, I think those who get caught up in this kind of banter are missing the greater opportunity here. Whether you agree or disagree with someone's take on it, you can still join in on a season of sharing and brotherhood with one another. Christmas isn't going to cease to exist because someone gets upset about it, and how each of us spends that day is up to us. I would rather be cheerful while being around others who are cheerful as well. If you need Santa, Frosty, and Rudolph to get there, then I guess that's good enough for me.
Quote:The ones who do care are either people telling Christians they are wrong, Saying "Happy Holidays" or "Season's Greetings" is not telling xtians they are "wrong." It is telling them that they are not the only people on the face of the earth and an awful lot of them hate to hear that.
