My reasons didn't alter my atheism, I was an atheist before and after - so they couldn't really be said to be the cause of my atheism. They altered my confidence in a knowledge statement. Sometimes, as unsatisfying as it may be, the answer to the question "but why are you like that" really is, "IDK, just the way I am". An irreducible fact.
How do you become an atheist for no reason at all? Were you simply not raised with religion? I mean, what would you have said to someone who asked you why you didn’t believe in god back your agnostic atheist days?

I was raised surrounded by religion. All kinds of religion. Religion coming out the demonhole. Just never believed any of it. I would have, and did, tell them that I just didn't believe any of it. I used to use the occassion to tell them about what other religions thought along the same line of questioning, especially novel shit. That's how I learned that no one has as little patience for religion as the religious.
In retrospect, I should have been an anthropologist. So I did the next best thing and married one, lol. Atheism is an irreducible fact of who I've always been, but it was my curiosity about mythology and how it circumscribes a culture that made me a gnostic atheist.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. You do too, though I don't complain about it.

I haven't said anything about that. I'm not sure why you're bringing it up. What I've been saying applies to all atheists (raised in society, etc.).

I have said to you more than once that if I ever miss a question, please bring it to my attention and I will promptly answer it. You never have.

Then I suppose I’m not sure what it is you’re saying.

Ex..now, and no. Cultural anthropologist, not an archaeologist. She specialized in oral tradition and contemporary native american mythology, specifically oglala.
Current wife was a journalism major at kent state, lol. College radio, you know. Girls got a voice on her.

That's interesting, all this time I thought your were some sort of theist. Not so much because you defended theistic views, but because of your knowledge of them.
You're perhaps the first atheist I've ever met, whose understanding of theism isn't limited to Fundie Evangelism, or whatever low hanging fruits are available.
I used to be of the opinion that a person could only sustain their atheism, by having a limited understanding of theism, much like a creationist can only sustain their views, by having a limited understanding of Evolution, but you seem to be an exception to the rule.
Much respect.
