I think perhaps part of the problem here is knowledge of current gun laws.

Are you aware there is NO registration of firearms - except for some states - which some have handgun or limited registration of some rifles?

I had my mind changed by a cop. He pointed it out - that with no handy list in his hand - he has no idea of how many guns anyone has - or where they are kept.

He further pointed out that no cop would want to mess with this sort of thing. For one - where are you going to put these guns? This sort of thing could RAPIDLY get out of hand. Some guys have gun collections worth huge money. Do you.want to be the officer who's sweaty fingers cause rust to form on a $50,000 Holland and Holland? Who is going to pay for that?

Hello! Big Grin

I guess you're adressing myself.

That is a completely stupid system and would seem to be one of your problems right there.

Make people have a license first and use said revinue to help with thd coordination of data between the various authorities.

No liscence, no car. No liscence, no gun.

As for collectors? They have insurance, no? There's your gun data, easy-peasy.

Not distracted by your bullshit!

If everything worked the way you argue it does or should, nobody would be bitching, and we wouldn't have the firearm violence we do.

Sorry, but nobody should have to live in fear going shopping, or to movies, or to concerts, or to bars or to school or to houses of worship. Cops should not have to fear getting shot pulling someone over for a traffic violation, and blacks shouldn't have to fear getting shot for merely getting pulled over.

Just cut the fucking crap. The bottom line is that it is way too easy to walk into a gun shop even when you should not have one, and buy one. It is too easy to buy them at shows, or from a neighbor or on line.

I am sick of the bullshit that by pointing this OBVIOUS fact out, of getting falsely accused of wanting a dictatorship.

This is about MONEY for the CEOs, not safety.

Your bullshit game of "Its the" "If we'd only" game of Wack A Mole isn't going to work anymore.

You can get on board, or get the fuck out of the way. Either way, the sane are tired of our streets, our workplaces, our schools, our bars, our houses of worship being shooting galleries.

Uhh...

No.

I had enough guns at one point that I had to take out extra insurance - as my homeowners would not have covered the loss. I asked my insurance agent if that info would or could be shared with law enforcement. (Just curious)

Answer - absolutely not. Covered by lawyer client confidentiality.

The "stupidity" of the laws isn't the subject.

But their restraint is why the red flag laws won't work.

And - trying to get everyone to register their guns?

Ask a Canadian. They tried that.

It' s an accurate distillation of everything you keep saying. Cut and paste it for your next post.

It will save you time.

Perhaps that will give you enought time to actually address the subject matter.

You're welcome.

So.... your response is "Current sharing of information is not conducive under current laws. So data sharing doesn't happen. Therefore hard."

I appologize for my poor paraphrasing but the reason above is very poor.

And the second was "It didn't work for other country 'X' because reasons." Again a rather weird comment.

The Canadians don't play cricket, either. But they're not complete parias, eh?

So. What might your possible solution to your country's current worries be?

That might be a bit like asking a guy " what's your plan?" - as he sails past the 30th floor after jumping off a 100 story building.

....

To do the absolute most - and still maintain firearm ownership - require nutters, criminals and other assorted misfits to have a NO GUNS logo on their I.D. - and require an I.D. check on all sales - public or private.

Or you can try confiscating all guns.

...

Americans went to war over the right to own human beings.

I' m pretty sure it's going to get very, very ugly when they try to take away their guns.

I hope they wait till I'm dead before they do it.

I must admit. That is the weirdest "I don't know." reply I've ever read.

I am also at a complete loss as to when our conversation strayed into "Take away ALL teh gunz!!!" territory.

Strange and confusing conversation to say the least.

Lol.. It's a strange subject.

It's not so much "I don't know" - it's more "I don't think there IS a good solution". Just a bunch of bad ones and some more horrific than others.

Edit to add.

I think a total ban is inevitable.

When everything else they try doesn' t work - good people will try anything - regardless of consequences.

So..... proper liscencing is....... what then?

Just instigating such a policy will eventuality generate usefull information and over generational time create a difference, no?

Otherwise what I am reading from you is "Too hard. People die. *Shrug shoulders*."

Please, disabuse me of my misconceptions.
