Why Red Flag Laws Won't Work.

RE: Why Red Flag Laws Won't Work.
If you slickers take away ma guns how do you expect us hill folk to have a decent range war/feud?
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Nope. You can't make the world safer by taking away a few guns. You can make it somewhat safer by locking people up.
I am not sure if i understood you correctly, but is your argument: "The crazy person may go on a killing spree once you try to confiscate his 30 guns, so you better lock him up"?
What if he goes on a killing spree once you try to lock him up?  Think
You think its a good idea to lock even more people up in the country where the inmates-per-capita ratio is already by far the worst in the civilized world?

Imho it becomes more and more apparent that you are desperately trying to adress the problem of gun violence by not adressing guns and their availiability at all. Of course i agree with (cant remember who it was) the poster who claimed that the problem of violence in general needs to be adressed in the american society.

And while you are pondering Think  , the next idiot is loading up a few magazines and grabs his rifle(s).....

What idiots in that camp fail to understand, is that reactionary measures after the buy when someone gets violent cost more to society, than if the CEOs of these companies and the shops that sell them would actually give a shit as to who buys them at time of sale.

Firearm companies and shop owners would actually have a far better reputation and be respected more if they didn't simply say, "Ok" just to make a buck.

Nobody should have a problem with background checks. Nobody should have a problem with waiting periods. Nobody should have a problem with bans on big clips or weapons of war. Nobody should have a problem with limits on how many one person has, or how much ammo that one person has. Nobody should have a problem locking them up at home.  But because of 40 years of fear peddling by the CEOs of these companies, this camp falsely and wrongfully paints liberals as wanting a dictatorship and we do not.

i seriously would have no problem with firearm companies if they gave a shit about how many they made and where they ended up. But they do not give a shit.

Probably not.

Why not? Very simple.

It depends on the honest cooperation of a deranged individual.

Consider - when the cops go into someone's house to confiscate guns - how do they know when they have them all? Answer - they have to ask - and trust - the deranged individual in question if they have all the guns.

See the problem?

You think that just MAYBE the guy might have a gun - or 30 stashed somewhere?

Think about this - prisoners in maximum security prisons manage to hide weapons. You think a guy who is free can't manage that trick?

Then also consider - might confiscating some of the guy's guns push him over the edge - and send him out on a killing spree?

Nope. You can't make the world safer by taking away a few guns. You can make it somewhat safer by locking people up.

Are you ready to start locking people up without a trial?

How about everytime someone does a mass shooting the people who sold them the guns were prosecuted for negligence and the police who ok'd the sale ditto.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis.

Your choices are to get on board, or get the fuck out of the way. The time for talk is over! There is no fucking debate to be had. America has way too much firearm violence. Arm more is not fucking working.

All your respoinses are just your own fucking insecurity because of the needless fear firearm CEOs scared you with.

Scream more bitch.

It's kinda pathetic, but cute.

Do you have any objective data on the matter? Or are you just fantasizing out loud?

Objective data?

Of how many guns are stashed?

That'd be a good trick.

But I can show some verifiable history that shows it's likely.

That data enough?

Yeah boy ..

Nothing more authoritative than a failed poet who lives in momma's basement.....

Better LISTEN to that guy.....

I can tell youthe most likely outcome when these laws get passed. (They likely will).

You'll get cunts like the two above - filing false reports against people they don't like....

The abuses will far outweigh any gains...

Not that it matters to anti-gun shitheads. There' s no lie they won't tell "for the greater good".

Hey Charlie Brown's teacher, DROP IT, we've heard it all before.

"This wont work"
"Arm more"
"Its the mentally ill"
"It's the terrorists"
"Its the criminals"
"Its the domestic abusers"
"It's the inner cities".

"Just keep them out of the wrong hands"

Me, "Ok"

You, 'TYRANNY!" even when I agree.

Again, this is just more rinse and repeat bullshit excuse making.

IT IS EASE OF ACCESS!

Sorry, your lack of understanding is not my baggage.

You made a claim that “red flag laws won’t work.” I’m wondering if you’ve researched the subject at all; if any research on laws of that nature exists; if you even bothered to google it? Or, did you just ponder the subject while on the pot, and decide that was sufficient work to form your conclusion from?

The problem is even if we say, "You are right OLB, how about this?" Their reaction is the same, "TYRANNY".

The bottom line is that side of t he isle has been needlessly scared by firearm CEOs for decades.

If OLB says, "The moon is made of cheese" and we respond "Why yes it is by golly, but it is a bit ripe and rancid and out of date" , idiots like him would still say "WHY DO YOU HATE CHEESE".

You cant win with that side of the isle. I have literally seen stories in the news in the past, where a teen accidentally kills his family member AT A SHOOTING RANGE, and the dad says, " I won't blame the gun".

You cant explain to OLB that  "Its not the gun" isn't the issue. But the attitude about firearms. He wont get our arguments until he accepts that.

It is the gun, in that far too many like OLB have a delusional attitude that simply handing them out will fix everything.
