An average of 100 firearm deaths per day is not good enough for the firearm worshipers.

You still haven't said how this would work.

Another 80 bazillion rants will be started along the way and that issue will never be addressed.

Good enough reason... for what?
If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.

I did address the issue. You not liking my responses are your  baggage not mine.

Waiting for something bad to happen after a sale is far more costly to society than doing the right thing at the point of sale.

And I could give a fuck less if you want to call what I say here on this form a "rant".  Damned right I am going to bitch. No I am not sorry.

If the worst you have to suffer is reading my posts which annoy you, that is far better than being a dead victim of Vegas or Newtown or Pulse, or Charleston, or Columbine.

Check your priorities.

Please repeat your solutions to the issue or provide a link.

You are the one on this forum with more baggage than passes through ATL in a year.

 - be glad you aren't a victim - Yep, playing to emotion is a dandy argument.

Your priorities are to twist around the same half dozen topics so that you can be the king of starting threads.

Guns - bullies - shitty music - bad poetry - THE HURRICANE YOU WERE SAVED FROM - corporate greed...you are so damn predictable.  Sorry, not sorry.

Cameras in the room? Why not ask the hotel resident why he needs immediate access to the content of twenty two heavy suitcases? The Mandalay Hotel chain has, like every other large hotel group, a facility to store baggage.

Forget guns, you can make a fucking big bomb with 22 suitcases of explosives. This incident is the failure of the hotel security system. And the failure of a country where you can buy an assault rifle in a corner shop.

There is no way around this; between them the NRA and duelling banjo country red necks control the 'Grand Old Party'. And as a consequence, the country.
Your fucked, and you're going to take the rest of us down with you.
Forget climate change, the American political system will end us long before the glaciers melt.
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.

Good enough reason... for what?

A good enough reason to agree that, in the interests of public safety, hotels should have the legal ability to search rooms and guests for weapons.

You do realize that people take.multiple guns into hotel rooms for good, legal, legitimate reasons on a regular basis -  don't you?

I don't.  What 'good, legal, legitimate' reasons did you have in mind for having 15 AR-15s, 8 AR-10s, a bolt action .308, and 8000 rounds of ammunition in a hotel room?

I have done it myself.

When setting up a table at a gun show that was a 4 1/2 h hour drive from home - with a set-up time of 6 a.m. I decided to get a hotel room the night before - near the venue - rather than having to leave the house at 1:30 a.m.

It would have been unwise to leave that many guns unattended - even in a locked car.

So I brought 8 large gun cases into my room.

Nobody said a thing.

No problem.

Edit to add - if you think searching hotel rooms for weapons is ok- you have to like searching people's houses as well --- as Castle doctrine is held for hotel rooms in every state that has it - as far as I know....
