I Beleive... I Must Be A Racist!

I Beleive... I Must Be A Racist!
I used to think I was pretty much just a regular person, but I was born white into a two parent household which now labels me as "Privileged", racist and responsible for slavery.

I am a fiscal and moral conservative, which by today's standards, makes me a fascist because I plan & budget. But I now find out that I am not here because I earned it, but because I was "advantaged”.

I am heterosexual, which according to some folks, now makes me a homophobe.

I believe the Lord did not give me a heart to judge others.

I am not a Muslim, which now labels me as an infidel.

I believe in the 2nd Amendment, which makes me a threat to the liberals and I get labeled as being part of a militia.

I am older than 40, making me a useless person with outdated ideas and values.

I think and I reason, and I doubt much of what the "main stream" media tells me, which makes me a "Right-wing conspiracy nut”.

I am proud of my heritage and our inclusive American culture, making me a xenophobe.

I believe in hard work, fair play, and fair compensation according to each individual's merits, which today makes me a target of socialists and Antifa.
I believe our system guarantees freedom of effort - not freedom of outcome or subsidies which must make me a borderline sociopath.

I believe in a strong defense and protection of America for and by all citizens, now making me a militant.

I am proud of our flag, what it stands for and the many who died to let it fly, so I stand and salute during our National Anthem - so I must be a racist. I kneel only for The Cross, which makes me racist.

I think the Confederate monuments around our country symbolize history, so I'm labeled as having hate in my heart when some suddenly are offended by their presence. I'm labeled racist when thinking the erasing of history will potentially cause us to repeat the problems.

I think that all lives matter, which labels me as a racist.

I support the President, which labels me as a racist.

I think the riots and destruction of property around our country is wrong and is just an excuse to push a political agenda, so I'm labeled a racist.

I support our cops, which labels me as a racist.

Though I KNOW IT'S REAL, I question whether fear is being used to control us during the COVID-19 pandemic and have wondered if the crisis is being used for political reasons, so I'm labeled careless and non-sympathetic.

Liberals have tried to make me feel bad about who I am! Based on everything above, some want me to believe I am a bad person; I'm not, I'm a good person who loves my God, my family and my country.

Feel free to copy and paste!!

Why would anyone copy and paste your beliefs?

Sorry, I guess along with my question I should say welcome...I didn't notice this was the introduction section.

OK, the intro threads are a DMZ, so nobody is going to argue about this with you here. Or are you just posting here so that there is no push-back? Enquiring minds want to know. Post it out in a discussion thread piecemeal, there's a lot to discuss.

Welcome, and enjoy your time here.

No one but the OPs entire post is copy-pasted. It comes in various forms when you google it.

RE: I Beleive... I Must Be A Racist!
I used to think I was pretty much just a regular person, but I was born white into a two parent household which now labels me as "Privileged", racist and responsible for slavery. I can’t help but think there’s missing steps in a lot of these claims. Frankly most of these could just be summed up with “fill in the blanks for me,” so I’ll just put those in italics because just repeating that can and will get tedious.

I am a fiscal and moral conservative, which by today's standards, makes me a fascist because I plan & budget. But I now find out that I am not here because I earned it, but because I was "advantaged”. Here’s a little primer into why people might think that, using Mario Kart as a metaphor:

I am heterosexual, which according to some folks, now makes me a homophobe.

I believe the Lord did not give me a heart to judge others.

I am not a Muslim, which now labels me as an infidel. Technically accurate, but I wouldn’t put much stock in the opinions of those people who dismiss people who believe differently as “infidels.”

I believe in the 2nd Amendment, which makes me a threat to the liberals and I get labeled as being part of a militia. Militia might be a stretch, but given that A) guns exist for the sole purpose of punching a hole in something to not make it alive anymore, and B) America has a shitton of mass shootings every year by people who use guns to the point where I turned it into a Rule in a drinking game, it’s frankly becoming harder to find good answers to questions like “why should the average person be able to own a Kalashnikov?”

I am older than 40, making me a useless person with outdated ideas and values. Or because you’ve kept ideas that have long become obviously outmoded by, well, reality

I think and I reason, and I doubt much of what the "main stream" media tells me, which makes me a "Right-wing conspiracy nut”. The validity of this, would, of course, have to depend on whether or not you replace it with sources that have far less validity than even mainstream media, sites like Infowars, which routinely run false news stories that spread easily debunked lies about current events, or sites like Breitbart, which tend to run news stories based on actual events that they add blatant right-wing bullshit to that ends up detracting from their credibility, and for several examples of the latter, see this video

[i]I am proud of my heritage and our inclusive American culture, making me a xenophobe[i] Inclusive=Xenophobe?

I believe in hard work, fair play, and fair compensation according to each individual's merits, which today makes me a target of socialists and Antifa. An admirable quality and one many socialists would Actually agree upon. That said, we’d probably have different ideas of what constitutes “fair compensation.”

I believe our system guarantees freedom of effort - not freedom of outcome or subsidies which must make me a borderline sociopath. And if our society was equal enough that we had the equality of opportunity that makes freedom of effort meaningful, that might actually mean something.

I believe in a strong defense and protection of America for and by all citizens, now making me a militant. Just so we’re clear, America’s military is already the largest in the world, outclassing our biggest rival by 200-300 percent. And it’s being used for wars that do nothing but make the world a more dangerous place by creating massive guerrilla forces that cannot be controlled by standard military forces.

I am proud of our flag, what it stands for and the many who died to let it fly, so I stand and salute during our National Anthem - so I must be a racist. I kneel only for The Cross, which makes me racist. Just FYI, the man who convinced Kaepernick to kneel was a Green Beret who convinced him it was a respectful medium between standing up and just sitting the anthem out.

I think the Confederate monuments around our country symbolize history, so I'm labeled as having hate in my heart when some suddenly are offended by their presence. I'm labeled racist when thinking the erasing of history will potentially cause us to repeat the problems. It’s possible to treat them as just history, but the fact is, like it or not, they were frequently put up to help reinforce white supremacy. And the controversy is no longer new. Check out, for a blatant example of both, the Battle of Liberty Place monument, which openly praised white supremacy and was a racial hot potato for the 126 years it stood in New Orleans.

I think that all lives matter, which labels me as a racist. If you really believe all lives matter, saying black lives matter shouldn’t be a problem to you. It literally follows directly from “all lives matter.”

I support the President, which labels me as a racist. The president who called white supremacist rioters in Charlottesville “good people,” kicked off his presidential campaign by calling Mexicans rapists and thieves and subsequently put many into what amount to concentration camps, and who can only be bothered to care about the COVID pandemic if he can use it to race-bait the Chinese and has bigger-all in the way of concrete policy outside race-baiting.

I think the riots and destruction of property around our country is wrong and is just an excuse to push a political agenda, so I'm labeled a racist. Yes, they are used to push a political agenda. Specifically, reforming our justice system so we don’t strangle black people to death for passing off a fake $20 bill at a convenience store.

I support our cops, which labels me as a racist. Well, the fact that you don’t seem to grasp why they’re even happening may point some to that conclusion.

Though I KNOW IT'S REAL, I question whether fear is being used to control us during the COVID-19 pandemic and have wondered if the crisis is being used for political reasons, so I'm labeled careless and non-sympathetic. Kindly elaborate

Liberals have tried to make me feel bad about who I am! Based on everything above, some want me to believe I am a bad person; I'm not, I'm a good person who loves my God, my family and my country. That may be, but loving one’s God and family don’t mean shit once you use it as an excuse to exclude people for things they can’t control.

Done a little research. This is apparently a copypasta of unclear origin, mostly going under the name "I Used to Be A Normal Person." Can't tell who the original author was, but I can tell there's a lot of variations with fewer "I need to connect the dots" moments, just with the same lack of self-awareness about how outmoded their old ideas are. Fucking Hell, I can't believe I spent an hour dissecting a copypasta like it was someone's actual heartfelt (if absurdly myopic) thoughts.
