It still does not matter to me. Sharks big enough have very powerful jaws and regardless of mistaken identity or provocation, you don't want to get bitten by them.

The odds are exactly the issue. The idea that you should be even a little bit concerned about being bitten by a shark is ludicrous. You’ve got a better chance of being struck by lightning while on your way to claim your lottery winnings.

It still does not mean one should want to win that rare lottery.
You want to be bitten by a great white, or bull or tiger? Not me.
Humans get hit by lightning too, and that is also rare. But do you want to be hit by lightning?

Ok then, if you are "not afraid" take a trip to anywhere in the world where great whites seek seals for food, while they are hungry and jump in.
Sharks are still not something to mess with as a layperson.
Humans study volcanos too, but vocanos are also not pets.
Most of the time a volcano won't hurt you, but that does not mean everyone should treat them like Winnie The Pooh.

The show I was watching wasn't claiming that shark attacks are like gun violence. I also dont want to get shot by a gun. I also don't want to get run over crossing the street, but getting shot or run over are far more likely than getting attacked by a shark. Still doesn't mean I want to be attacked by a shark.
