On Wednesday, Newsweek choose to go long on the New Birtherism by publishing an article from law professor John Eastman questioning Kamala Harris’ eligibility as a vice presidential candidate.

To be absolutely clear, the New Birtherism isn’t about where Kamala Harris was born, just about who she happened to be born to. Here’s Eastman’s own words about this “dispute.”

Her father was (and is) a Jamaican national, her mother was from India, and neither was a naturalized U.S. citizen at the time of Harris' birth in 1964.

Eastman then spends the remainder of his article making the long-demolished case that the 14th Amendment was never intended to let just anyone born in the United States be an American, despite the clear language of the article.

The panel is titled “Can blink-182’s Tom DeLonge Uncover U.S. Government UFO Secrets?” He will be joined by his To The Stars’ colleague Luis Elizondo, the former head of the Pentagon’s UFO program and a retired Army counterintelligence special agent.

DeLonge and Elizondo will also talk about “Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation,” now in its second season on TV’s History Channel. The series, executive produced by DeLonge, features Elizondo and former United States Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence Christopher Mellon, one of To The Stars’ most prominent advisers.

In June, DeLonge posted on social media that To The Stars had succeeded in its quest to have language regarding unidentified aerial phenomena added to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Authorization Act. If passed, the act would change how the government reports and conceals classified information about UFOs and related topics.

Last October, the for-profit To The Stars began a five-year, $750,000 cooperative research and development agreement with the United States Army Combat Capabilities Development Command. The goal is “to advance To The Stars Academy’s materiel and technology innovations in order to develop enhanced capabilities for Army ground vehicles.”

In a statement issued at the time, Dr. Joseph Cannon of U.S. Army Futures Command said: “Our partnership with To The Stars Academy serves as an exciting, nontraditional source for novel materials and transformational technologies to enhance our military ground system capabilities. At the Army’s Ground Vehicle Systems Center, we look forward to this partnership and the potential technical innovations forthcoming.”

Southeast Regional Coordinator of Bigfoot research Michelle Jones is seeking local residents with stories to share about encounters with Bigfoot or the unknown

“People often ask me if I believe Bigfoot exists and my answer is always the same, ‘Yes,’” Jones said. “I don’t believe Bigfoot exists; I know Bigfoot exists.”

“I’m looking for people to come forward, especially avid hunters, that have had any encounters with Bigfoot or anything unknown they just couldn’t explain while they were out in the woods,” Jones said. “Those that come forward, I want them to know everything they tell me will be kept confidential.

Jones has prepared a list of questions for anyone with information about mysterious outdoor encounters and also a waiver for those who choose to waive their confidentiality rights.

“I will relinquish more information and explain further during interviews,” Jones said. “I already have two credible witnesses so far for the Tallapoosa County area.”

Pentagon launches task force to study UFO sightings

The Pentagon announced Friday that it is launching a task force to study unidentified flying objects after reports of sightings from service members.

Bipartisan lawmakers have long pushed for the creation of a body to study UFOs, with former Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) emerging as a chief proponent.

"The U.S. needs to take a serious, scientific look at this and any potential national security implications. The American people deserve to be informed," he tweeted in April after the footage of the UFOs was released.
