Trump pulls the plug on stimulus talks

President Trump on Tuesday abruptly ended talks with Democrats on an economic stimulus bill, sending the stock market sliding and dealing a final blow to an intensive set of on-again-off-again negotiations to deliver additional pandemic aid to struggling Americans before the November elections.

Mr. Trump announced that he was pulling the plug on the effort in a series of afternoon tweets in which he accused Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California of “not negotiating in good faith" and urged Senate Republicans to focus solely on confirming his nominee to the Supreme Court in the coming weeks.

Trump's so thick that in a fit of pique he'll do something to severely hurt the metric, stock market values, that he thinks will get him elected. Only for his campaign is staffed with conjobs they'd all be abandoning ship right now.

I just don't understand why the dems don't just utilize his pettiness, strategically, against him.

If you know it's  always garbage in/garbage out, you can use that piece of information to form a strategy upon that expectation - in essence, defeat him at his own lack of rules. Or are the dems, even now, so deluded that they think he's still playing by the rulebook?

Somehow, the Trump campaign just did something that was A) Legitimately funny, and B) Intentionally so: A week ago, Kamala Harris did this:



Ignoring the idiocy of the "Tupac faked his death" crowd, and the fact that she somehow couldn't think of a living rapper she could consider her favourite (seriously, Kendrick Lamar would be a pretty uncontroversial choice), the Trump campaign apparently bought a ticket for Tupac at the vice-presidential debate.

Quoth Jason Miller: “I can confirm that we have left a ticket for Tupac Shakur, who as we know is Sen. Harris’ favorite rapper alive. I don’t know if he shows up. I’m personally more of a Biggie fan, if he’s still alive, but we will have a ticket waiting for Mr. Shakur.”
