Michigan Bans Open Carry of Firearms at Polling Places
|
Though I grew up around guns...lots of hunting in eastern Iowa and dad was licensed to carry guns in case he came upon an animal that needed to be put down and an injection wasn't an option - think a deer hit on the road (he was a veterinarian), I was taken aback in the mid 80s when the Army sent me to Arizona and I witnessed open carry for the first time. It wasn't something I saw often but the first few times were a shock.
I can't see why anyone would open carry at a polling place except for the intimidation factor. I recognised her as an employee for a local gun shop... I suspect she was just on her way to or from work.....
I saw open carry in Idaho, in the '70s. Ranchers sometimes need firepower for various animals on the range.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
Recently saw a show, Blacklisted , where a guy pulled out a gun when his daughter's and wife's face appeared on the television in the store to announce that they had been kidnapped. A good samaratin tried to draw his gun, but he was shot and killed. That is always the most realistic outcome, showing us that carrying a gun doesn't do shit for your safety or any one else's.

And you think something you saw on a tv show reflects an accurate representation of real life? Hooookay...... RE: Michigan Bans Open Carry of Firearms at Polling Places

Be sure to exercise your God-given right to bear arms, and make sure they're out there for all to see!

If The Flintstones have taught us anything, it's that pelicans can be used to mix cement.

We have the right to bear arms or arm bears - whatever the hell you like. - Robin Williams
A gun rights organization - Michigan Open Carry - filed a lawsuit to get the directive thrown out...
OLB, you in favor of training for people with guns?
