Fantasy Literature?

anyone else read fantasy?
I know there must be a thread, but I dislike the search method here a bit and it's probably so far buried that digging it up would have me asked some uncomfortable questions by the relevant authorities.
ahem. anyway, my favourite authors are:
Sir Terry Pratchett [!!!!!]
A. Lee Martinez
Philip Pullman
Robert Jordan
Paul Hoffman
Neil Gaiman
the discworld series by Terry Pratchett is by far my favourite though, and it's a set of books I can happily read over and over again. :d

Sir Pratchett??? My dear girl, you have new best friends in Kichi and I.
We have all of the discworld series including Snuff and 7 years ago when he came to Perth I waited 2 1/2 hours in a very long line for him to autograph "The Last Hero" for me
My favorite character by far is DEATH.

I won't try to dissuade you of that notion but Susan Death and The Death of Rats are heroes of mine. The Death family, ah if only you could choose your relatives.
Stephen Donaldson has had me trudging over and under strange lands for thousands of years. So many fat volumes and still it continues. If he follows up the final chronicles with a prequel I'll seek him out and end the pain.
I'm looking forward to the Hobbit movie/movies.

Possibly my favorite novel is "the amazing Maurice and his educated rodents" which is nominally a kids story but would have to rank as one of the best books about what it means to be sentient I've ever encountered.
Hmm, Donaldson... I've only read the Unbeliever series and whilst the world he created in "The Land" was beautiful I just couldn't get past what a whining, self pitying snot Covenent was.

Gaiman, Tolkien, Robert Jordan, and Jacqueline Carey are my consistent favorites. I have a tome of an edition of Lord of the Rings with watercolors by Alan Lee illustrating it that I can't part with.
I also like Robin McKinley and Patricia McKillip for easy reads, and Laurell K Hamilton's "Meredith Gentry" series for juicy beach-read faerie fantasy.

Ye I can understand that. I first read "The Land" on a long summer holiday,
camping, first experiences of canoeing in idyllic country, the beauty of clear water over stone,
listening to astral weeks, early days with my girlfriend/wife, she hated that book, it wasn't shared.
We did read the Hobbit and LOTR to each other.
Later I read the first few Potters to our daughter, better than clear water over stone.

well actually it was a conversation about the top 10 questions I get asked by stupid sighted people.
but sex was in there.
I am a totally loyal and dedicated Rincewind fan.

@Galileo: I have to add to your list Trudi Canavan and Eoin Colfer.
