Number 5's Surreal Creepy Film Collection

RE: Number 5's Surreal Creepy Film Collection
Here's one.

"The Vigil" (2019)

An excellent creepy horror movie and an excellent analysis of guilt as seen through the lens of Jewish culture.

It's on Amazon. I actually think Amazon is a wonderful streaming service. But you can't find shit through their browsing interface. They need to improve that. Pronto. They do have stiff competition.

That's one I want to see! It looked delightfully atmospheric.

Maybe that's why I haven't been able to find any good movies on there.

Caveat
Quote:A lone drifter suffering from partial memory loss accepts a job to look after a psychologically troubled woman in an abandoned house on an isolated island.

The weirdness and creepy factors are present, but overall it's a disappointing film. Watch at your own peril.

I'll give it a watch! Sometimes the creepy films are like that. The aesthetic and atmosphere are better than what actually happens.

I'm glad you've been going through the list and checking them out! ^^

The easy go-to is Eraserhead (1977)
"For the only way to eternal glory is a life lived in service of our Lord, FSM; Verily it is FSM who is the perfect being the name higher than all names, king of all kings and will bestow upon us all, one day, The great reclaiming"  -The Prophet Boiardi-

      Conservative trigger warning.

True, it is so talked about and on every "weird" list, that it's kind of basic to mention.

Yeah... that movie is all about atmosphere. I mean... I think you're supposed to really feel the isolation.

I also liked Blue Velvet. But otherwise, Lynch is kinda hit or miss with me.

Here is one I don't see on those lists often; Heartbeeps (1981)  It's not great but it's one of the stranger films I've seen.

My two favorites, for obvious reasons, are Await Further Instructions and The Block Island Sound, due to the deep messages around which the films were created.

The Block Island Sound: treat our wildlife with better care. After all, how would we like it if a more advanced species treated us in such a manner?

Await Further Instructions: this is how I imagine theists to be who blindly do whatever their god tells them to do.

There are a couple of others I wanted to watch, but they're not free on Prime. I'll have to use another, not so legal method, to watch them as I did with Caveat.

When I get around to it, I want to watch Saint Maud and The Void.
