I probably cannot be termed as vanilla. However, I will say that vanilla sex beats the prudes who have no sex. Also, it can be fun sometimes. When the only way you can get off is to get freakier and freakier, you are not doing it right.
Ah, but only if it always has to be freakier. Nothing atol wrong with freaky, and the occasional foray into the wild and bizarre-provided no-one gets hurt without wishing it-can be a great way to put thrill into it.
Prudes who have no sex are not human in my book: They are drones.

Nothing at all wrong with vanilla, either. I find too freaky to be a distraction from what I am trying to accomplish. Changing it up and trying new things all the time is a give in for me, but pushing the boundaries for the sake of pushing them destroys the spontaneity that I so enjoy.
There is time for spontaneity, and there is time for devious planning in dark dungeons.

That's distracting to me. Dungeons, that is. Devious planning that works for me only goes so far as planning a kinky outfit or buying toys for the occasion. Like I said, I'm definitely not vanilla. I am by no means a dungeon gal either. I like the innocence of sex sometimes. I like being able to surprise a partner with something as simple as a sexy outfit. When you verge too far off vanilla, those things fail to impress anymore.
Not to knock it, Shell - I'm usually like you - but I think the point of dungeons is that they are...distracting...in a way. It's hitting your brain in a completely different way. It can be accomplished without contraptions and accessories, but there's a manipulation of anticipation, sensation, and where you go in your head that a 'dungeon' takes you to that's just divergent from the usual path people take to get through the cycles of arousal and release.

Oh, I'm all for innocence in sex. Most mornings, that is a perfect way to proceed. Distraction from BDSM runs counter to its intended effect, which is hyper-focus, but as you say, that's just not for you. I love a sexy outfit, but I also love an outfit of ropes, tying a girl to a rack for use. Verging far off of vanilla makes it interesting to me, because it allows a whole new palette with which to paint the sexual spectrum. Then again, I've been a perverted bastard since I was a child. I never stayed in the vanilla for too long without a sojourn into darker or more esoteric sexuality.

Summer, I understand why people do it and how it can be enjoyable. It just doesn't take me where I like to be sexually. I'm sure perverted could be used to describe me, at times, but not in that sense. To be honest, part of the not liking the ropes on the body thing is that I don't like the way they look on women and I am self conscious, so would never do it. Being tied up is one thing. Being tied up like a pig for slaughter is another.
So, no suspensions for Shell then, I take it.
