My main issue with bio males being allowed in bio women's spaces was, as I stated a couple months ago or whenever my post was, that half or more of the women and girls might be very uncomfortable with it or suffer some kind of trauma from the experience or get really scared in the moment. We always hear that the comfort of the trans person is all that matters, and fuck bio women's comfort.

People are going to find it hard to accept when society didn't even have an argument about it and just made it law, skipping the whole debating process. What the news talked about was bathrooms. Not 40 year old bio men with facial hair walking around nude infront of girls, which obviously some parents are going to be pretty alarmed by when society has always trained them to shield their children from that kind of stuff.

The trans lady in this case does have the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. That we can agree on, but that doesn't make it a hoax. I mean, she is already on the sex offender registry for multiple offenses, so that in itself makes these charges a whole lot more believable.

Let's keep in mind that the laws just changed to allow trans into locker rooms/ saunas/ prisons/ sports so we're working with a pretty small sample size when it comes to time.

And I never claimed to be worried about trans people. Cis men are allowed into these spaces just as much as trans women are, since it's all based on claimed identity at the door. The first thing sungula did when he found out about the indecent exposure charges, was question whether the person was really trans or just lying.

No, they are legally not. The fact they have to lie to get in demonstrates that beyond doubt, And didn't bring up that doubt the police in your first article did.

Would you be comfortable with Mike Tyson moving from a men's prison to a women's prison because he decides one day to say he identifies as trans? I don't know if I would want to be a bio woman in that prison.

Considering female prison I don't see why being around  Mike  Tyson than any violent female inmate either could kill you.

Sports is the other thing. Many trans activists say they don't care if it's fair or not, and that preventing trans people from killing themselves is more important than who wins or loses in a race. Is this the right mindset to have? Should women and girls not have the right to their own sports? I don't know if that's quite the best argument, that we need to take something away from bio women because someone else is threatening to kill themselves if we don't, but this appears to be another losing battle for those against trans women in sports, and on the upside, maybe with a few trans women dunking in the WNBA, people might actually start tuning in and the league may actually turn into a success.

It is a good argument. Sports are by default not fair and the positive outcomes for trans WOMEN are valid, And of course, women have the right to their own sports as long as they include ALL women including Trans women

CIS males are not allowed in female spaces Trans women are. You keep pushing the distortion, And if the sight of a penis traumatizes you your frankly a snowflake. What's next? Are the straight women allowed to demand there be no lesbians in the changing room? How about if I don't like to look at fat people in the dressing room are they forced to leave because "it makes me uncomfortable"? Do I even need to point out that men's changing rooms are a dangerous place for transwomen . But hey fuck their safety right?

The idea is that white knighting over women and child will launder hate - but it doesn't play..because women and children are also very commonly hateful. Active participants, rather than poor victims. It took an active disinformation campaign, riots..and stabbings..before anyone remembered they might have seen a peener in the pool that day - because this was never about anything else.

On July 3, an anti-transgender protest outside a Los Angeles spa resulted in two stabbings—all over a social media post that police are now treating as a hoax. Back on June 24, a user called cubanangel posted a video on Instagram showing her and at least two other women confronting a staff member at Wi Spa on Wilshire Boulevard in Koreatown about having seen “a man with a penis” in the women’s changing area. “I’m recording this because I’m gonna make a big deal. I’m gonna take this very worldwide,” she explains, kicking off four minutes berating the staff member over the queer-friendly spa’s nondiscrimination policy.

Soon after the video began to go viral in transphobic corners of the internet, members of the trans community began to raise questions about it—chief among them why the video cuts out as the woman marches downstairs to confront this person she’s allegedly seen, conveniently ending before the trans woman she’s so angry about is shown. The woman also repeatedly mentions children being exposed to a penis, while no children appear on the video and the group don’t appear to have any children with them. These early doubts have been bolstered by reporting from the Los Angeles Blade that police suspect a hoax after failing to find witnesses who saw a trans woman at the spa, and that Wi Spa claims none of their trans clients had scheduled appointments that day.

To understand why this incident is so disturbing, it’s worth being clear about what the hoax is even claiming: that a trans woman used a changing room that she was fully allowed to use … on a day when no trans women actually happened to be using it. There was no specific claim of wrongdoing or inappropriate conduct on the part of this alleged person, although the colorful language used in the video certainly sparks the imagination, likely leading those with a transphobic cast of mind to fill the vacuum of facts with horrific acts of lewdness or indecency. Perhaps this is why outrage over the possibility that a trans woman may have changed her clothes in the appropriate facilities grew and grew, culminating in the protest outside Wi Spa, which included a contingent of violent extremists from the far right. The two stabbing victims were attacked by an anti-trans protester: One was a counterprotester; the other apparently a “friendly stab” incident where a fellow protester was hit by mistake.

Anti-trans activism is often thought of as a sideshow or a distraction, but these events show the real dangers of an increasingly extremist anti-trans backlash. In this case, an uncorroborated suggestion that a trans woman was using a women’s space ignited a protest that resulted in violence and led to a woman being hospitalized. That there was likely no trans woman there to begin with only underscores how thin a pretext is needed to prompt these sorts of outbursts from the far right. Trans people and our allies should not ignore the growing anti-trans sentiment in this country.

Update, Aug. 2, 2021: On July 30, Los Angeles Magazine reported that five women, including the one who initially posted the Wi Spa video, have filed police reports alleging to have witnessed “male genitals” exposed in the women’s section of the spa on June 23. This does not contradict previous reporting by the Los Angeles Blade that LAPD sources suspected the incident to have been a hoax. This post will be updated if that assessment changes.
