Saudi Arabia executes 81 human beings in one day.

RE: Saudi Arabia executes 81 human beings in one day.
Put the hate boner back in your pants Bel, lol. I'm pretty sure that Jehenne and any number of other people can be genuinely disheartened by mass executions.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

The reason there was such an uproar is that the people killed don't appear to have been put to death on charges that warrant the death penalty in ksa, either.

Sometimes atheists deny that universal moral standards exist. They say that such standards are cultural norms, and bound to vary from culture to culture.

I suspect there may in fact be something like an overall, objective view by which we can pass judgment. But that view is certainly NOT equivalent to "American standards" of judgment.

To show that we're judging things objectively, and not simply by the habits of our own social group, we'd have to define some way of determining what goes, objectively, beyond cultural specifics.

Maybe murdering 81 people on vague charges, some of which apparently derived through torture....is a good start for the kind of thing that would be Not Good.

I am a criminal, I broke the the law about 6 months ago by driving at 34 mph in a 30 zone, am I not allowed reasonable treatment or consideration?
Nah they aren't and they don't. And your "crime" wasn't a real crime.

If you break the law you are committing a crime, that's what it means, ok so speeding may not be as serious as murder (or insulting a non existant god) but it's still a crime and I still had to pay the fine

No, not every infraction is a crime. Look up the definitions. Speeding is not a crime, it's a traffic infraction.
I do not ask that you respect religion, but we need to respect the religious, because they are rational humans just like us atheists. I was rational when I was a Christian. I believed because of indoctrination, not lack of intelligence.

I am disheartened by an execution. No one is deserving of a scheduled annihilation.

The executed ones are being shown mercy, as far as I'm concerned. Life in prison is a far worse fate than death.
