We had the exact same question on AD. And I find it as ludicrous as I found it there.

I assume that OP is American, but with Americans it's always Hitler or Nazi, if it isn't communist. There are numerous forms of autocracy and none of it is Hitler or Nazi Germany. It's just autocracy.

So far, the oppressive laws are confined to the state level and don't touch the federal level. There are still elections and elected representatives. Even if it took to the federal level, it would still be a far cry from being Nazi Germany, where the coincidence of being born into a certain group warranted a deatch sentence.

It doesn't serve the purpose of warning against autocrats to compare them with Nazi Germany or Stalin's soviet Union.
