I knew only one Wiccan. She was a fellow employee where I worked. She was a self-proclaimed lesbian, but I think that was simply her antimale bias. She believed that one could change reality through belief. She believed in the effectiveness of Bach Flower Remedies. She had a collection of crystals and wore a different one around her neck each day, thinking they would have some sort of effect on her health. She thought psychic surgery was real. She was a complete loon.

I appreciate that pagans don't knock on my door to share the good news about Baphomet (or whomever).
The Lord and Lady, the whole baphomet thing is a christer fantasy.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I identified as a pagan for a small percentage of my younger life, mainly because it was non-christian.

I'd not, but checking up on her - her central idea that contemporary western culture is missing the sacred feminine in ways that historic near or eastern culture is not..is..in short..pretty solid.
What's something that stuck with you, from the book?

Probably the archaeological and historical insightfulness. Her and Cunningham were the two major sources that led to my budding paganism when I was younger.

What happened to your paganism as you grew older?

I simply let it go along the path toward atheism. Through the years I somewhat held onto a semblance of pagan belief via symbolism, jewelry, in the form of goddess pendants, but eventually I even let that go. Sometimes, still, I find myself doing searches for pagan jewelry.
