And what do you guys think about the shooting in Trogir? Is it reasonable to believe that the shooter is a retired policeman? Policemen have higher morality than most people, so perhaps it is not reasonable to believe a retired police officer is a shooter.

Firstly, police are neither more nor less moral than any one else (some police officers reach absolutely breathtaking levels of corruption). Second, and more importantly, Mamic has several prior arrests for domestic violence, which is almost universally acknowledged as an indicator of further violent acts.
So, yeah, I think he’s the shooter.

Is being a cop dangerous where you are? Not so much here. They’re mostly a danger to other people.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

And they don’t seem to get any less dangerous when they retire. It may be a bit of a stretch, but one might almost say that people seek out careers in law enforcement because they’re predisposed to violence.

So, why aren't you an anarchist? You know, one who thinks we should not rely on the police to protect us, but that we should get a gun to protect ourselves?

It’s exactly because policing attracts people prone to violence that - ideally - would make them especially well-suited to maintain public order. I’m not an anarchist because anarchy is an inherently flawed, self-defeating system (we’ve been over this before).
I have to question why you are an anarchistic, since you seem to think that coppers are paragons of moral virtue, with the probity and good sense to keep the rest of us safe from harm.

If you want to protect yourself, buy a lock. Guns aren't for protecting, they're for hurting. Obviously things may be different where you are. Do you find that everyone is armed and you can't walk a block to the cornerstore without your glock?

I used to be an anarchist. But I have realized that the world is complicated and that, for some problems, government is the only realistic solution. Now I think government should be our last resort for problems such as the antibiotic resistance (caused primarily by the massive use of antibiotics in the egg industry), but that it should still be there.
